i agree, even if they restore the toon they can't restore the items so its still the same and also, does "they used to in the past" means that they also refund lost items before or just the toon?

 

Once upon a time they actually searched trade logs, banned whoever took it and if he still had the items they returned them. Only when it got complex like items got passed through too many chars did they not return them (gets chaotic, especially with more common items). They still banned the person though. Right now they don't even ban, which is really sad. To be honest I would say the lack of punishments only encourages people to try scam everyone they can just because they can get away with it like nothing.

Same, but theres a difference between us and many of the players here. A lot of people here play from the Philippines, Indonesia and Brazil, they don't have their own computers, they game from net cafes. All it takes is 1 a$$hole planting a keylogger (that you don't know and can't do anything about) and they are done. How is that their fault, tell me.

If they don't wanna do all the work then fine with me, introduce the character pin and it is done, the numpad is randomized and can't be keylogged in any way whatsoever. However they stopped searching, stopped banning and don't put the security that is needed. Yea the approach gets kinda irritating, just makes it worse.

Edit: By the way the char pin is already part of the server files and can be introduced by changing a single damn line, even told them which one. But yea doesn't matter apparently.

 

im not even sure if imprisonment is some sort of a punishment.. atleast ingame

 

I didn't say prison, they banned for this stuff in the past, end of story. It is not something you would give a 2nd chance for.

 

thought they still restore deleted toons if provided with a proof

been playing in a cafe from day 1 but the good thing is I'm the only one playing aion here
there are other cafe here that has better pc and net but the risk of being hacked isnt worth it

 

Toons are worthless, you can remake the char and hit the level cap in an hour, the gear is the only thing with actual value.

 

i might be misinterpreting things but what im trying to do was elaborate alittle your last statement which is "lack of punishments" (dont have anything to do w/ bans or w/ the topic), i gave my thought that i dont see imprisonment as a penalty(when you can get online, fap all day and wait til your free), just that

no one has the balls to follow your instructions, indeed.

 

Jail is fine for some punishments, unintentional "bug abuse", potentially camping etc., if you are new here and aren't aware then sure, can be done. However I would say 1 chance, you do it again after being warned, you are done.

As for bans for scamming, they made it pretty clear in this thread that they won't even touch him, nor care who did it. A message to scammers to happily do what they do since no action will be taken.

It was a generic comment about new people xd They aren't always aware about local customs. Same as you don't read terms of agreement anywhere, nobody goes researching server rules. The only common sense rules for any game are don't hack, don't scam, don't spam, don't advertise. Beyond that, you figure it out as you go along. That is why there has to be some tolerance, but once people are told there is a rule, they have no excuse for breaking it again.

You have jail irl too, you don't get executed on the spot xd I didn't say they should get away with it, I said jail em, inform them, they won't do it again. If they do, their problem, they have been warned.

I made it clear enough most people play at net cafes and they don't fall for scams, they get keylogged etc, you can't know it's there, you can't do anything about it. Char pins are the only safe protection against that, yet there is constant refusal to implement them.

 

Just create a new one and don't share your account to others.
