Do note, I did not mention "this-is-not-pretty". I only stated exactly what the idiom means, different people have different interpretations to what you consider beautiful.
Swallow your pride and try not to push your ideals onto others. I may not like Ang Jolie but I wouldn't disagree with Catherine Zeta-Jones, just different opinions.

Although it may appear unoriginal, trying to point out when not to use commas, eg before conjunction words like: "and & but".

I said it doesn't matter because of the following reason:
To correct me means nothing other than you've identified the mistake, which I can easily point out myself.
To correct me meant that you've understood the meaning hence there wouldn't be a need to point out the mistake.
Correcting me seems to prove nothing other than you've corrected my expression than disagree with the substance of my sentence.
