Downgrade progress thread

Hi guys, I am currently working on a downgrade, already have a very rough version of it working, currently trying to figure out how to make things work without making you download unnecessary data xd

Current bugs:
1. Login screen has no background ~Fixed
2. Terms & Conditions overlap news feed (interfaces are fine on char select and ingame) ~Fixed
3. Skill effects aren't showing up, skills do work though (dealt with it before, potentially adding quite a bit to downgrade size) ~Fixed, unfortunately this one will cost you 94mb, no way around it.
4. Map doesn't work, they changed the way it works so I will have to get around it. I could do it but it means downloading over 200mb of data, so I will see if I can find a better way ~Fixed yea 240mb of maps. They moved them from Aion\Data\zonemap to Aion\Textures\ui\newmap, however they also repacked all of them to fit their new format so no way around this so far.

I will keep working on it and push what I have so far before I go to sleep today for those who are desperate and don't mind the glitches. I will update the version over time as usual to fix everything.

Funny glitch for your amusement xd Chains display ALL the version of the chain, you use the latest regardless of which you click though.

EDIT: This one is fixed, moving on xd

The future is 63% uploaded xd 8 minutes left or so

Simple reasons really
1. Haven't played much lately
2. Can't handle fraps and game on my laptop
3. I prefer quests and lore

yeah i see thats what i saw on your page, hmm have you finished the quest were lord showed themselves when facing tiamat, i dunno if its campaign quest, i wanna see what lord kaisenel looks like, ahaha


btw: im playing Aion due to its interesting evolving lore,

 

You can watch the majority of cutscenes in your Aion folder. Game cutscenes are saved as .bik files, in case of Aion located here:
Aion\L10N\ENU\data\cutscene\movie

You can open them with Rad Video Tools which install a player for bik files

There was another location for the rest of the cutscenes but can't recall it atm

EDIT: Blah upload failed, damn you mediafire. Might be file size, it is a little over 200mb. I might have to split it up.

 

i dont have my own PC anymore, mine had exploded months ago, so Im just playing on a net shop

 

LOL mediafire does have 200mb/file limit, I'm at 204 >.> can't really spare anything. Remaking the rars and gonna do it feature by feature

Main downgrade - 110mb
Skill effects fix - 94 mb
Maps - about to decide how to make them

 

More updates in the main post, once I fix the cursor it will be just about everything that needed fixing. I will probably put the login screen/cursor fix in the main downgrade and make it a version 2. I will update the downgrade guide when I am done messing with this xd

Fixed the loading cursor and login screen, uploading v2 xd 49% done, but vacuuming the house, I will update the downgrade guide in a while
