Pacific Rim sounds good

Is it a Worth Watching guys?? anyone seen it yet?

 

Came back from seeing it.
If you grew watching Gundam, Mazinger, Getter Robo, Macross, Evangelion and all the good giant robot stuff, then you need to go. Its your duty.
Otherwise is a popcorn hollywood very oriental influenced movie that will entertain you.
Except the ending, too americanish with small balls to make it truly awesome for my taste. But there you go.

story isn't that great. but the effects is stunning it was still enjoyable to watch... it's worth watching if your into those gundam like type of stuff

 

The movie is about people in giant Mecha robots fighting giantass monsters. Just like Transformers is about giant transforming robots beating the metallic crap out of each other. You don't see that stuff for the story. You see that stuff to watch giant Robots and giant monsters beat the crap out of each other.

thats true, i just came back from watching it xD. but yeah... i really did not like the story at all ! but your right whos even in it for the story anyways. i expected more action tbh.

 

Actually is way more awesome if you grew watching giant robot shows. The movie has this homage moments and camera shots to a lot of that stuff. If you are mecha fan like me, you notice small details everywhere, from the logical mechanics designs to some awesome gimmicks in the punching mechanics of the arms, really, to me at least was a "Childhood Dream Achievement Unlocked". Please... using a tanker as a club to smash a monster is priceless and beautiful like watching the birth of black hole.

And it has its story, its just is not well developed, and some annoying characters that were unnecessary that somewhat diminish the experience. And its way better than transformer, the director understood that the camera need to go a little further back to appreciate the metal smashing.

 

I grew up watching some robot shows. Such as I watched Power Rangers all the time and they had the megazords. And I always wondered how many hundreds of people died horrific deaths when they fought the monster in the city and a laser or sword strike would destroy a poor nearby building.

I also watched Transformers, Voltron, Gundam, and some Evangelion. Played the Mech Warrior games

But even if I didn't watch all that I would still wanna see this movie cause it's got GIANT ****IN ROBOTS FIGHTING GIANT ****IN MONSTERS! Plus Ron Perlman is awesome
