What are you referring with "americans"? Its a very big continent, divided in 3: North America, Central America and South America. In the section I live in, there are 13 countries, another has 3, and none of them is called "america".

Sure. But their country has a name and is not America. Even if they earned that stereotype by their actions and behaviors, it has nothing to do with the 34 other countries that compose the continent. We have our own stereotypes to abide to.
