My Updating process

Ok i'm i little low on knowledge regarding computer in stuff blah blah etc.

here's what i did

*i open the NCsoft launher to start the update then it downloaded the "NC-Launcher setup" thing then it made a "NCwest folder" in my program files*

here it is



upon waiting and observing the update i noticed that the folder "Ncwest" remained it sized 6.79mb while the folder "Ncsoft" increase from 37GB to 40GB and still counting

so my question is this right? and i didn't encounter any error except this so obviously i restarted it and its continuing right now while i'm making this thread


it's been more than 5 hours now and it still in below 40 percent :annoyed:

ncwest supposed to be 6.79mb since that's the launcher..the whole game's installed at ncsoft folder, the first part's the longest to dl and the current launcher's timer's messed up so it'll look stuck but its normal..as for the error, just restart yer launcher..

 

Press confirm and continue with the update, it happened to me on 17-21-27-29 percent and again at around 50, it restarts the process but a lot faster. At the end your Ncsoft (or aion) folder should be around 50-60gb, that's because the updater downloads the whole game and then installs it (thus making the folder double in size) after you're done updating and all that jazz, feel free to download that huge folder $Patch$, that's where the downloaded information is stored but after updating is completely useless.

Oh and if it took you 5 hours for that i'm gonna assume that you started the update and went afk, yeah don't do that cause it shows "errors" pretty frequently and according to the NA forum those happen when a lot of people are updating and downloading the same file

 

I first got that error in 29% and yah i went afk but i encounter the error 1 hour after i woke up..

If i downloaded aion from ncsoft and updated it to 4.0, so now i must just wait till server becomes 4.0??
P.S since i'm new to gamezaion, which server i should choose? Where are more ppl?

 

do not wait. it will be 4.0 today. and it might take more time/days depends on ur internet connection if u waited b4 updates. choose siel full stigma, more people.

One more q, i have fresh install of aion, where do i install gamez launcher? right into aion folder? and i saw some threads abaut item packs, do i need one?

 

Make a backup of your NA. you will install it in the aion folder but wait first for the update of the new launcher of Gamez.

Ok After it finish the update step 1/9 thing, i'm kinda stuck on installation its on 57-58% and its been 6hours is this right??

 

Please help :crying:

 

1st (inb4 AMs) "avoid doubleposting"
2nd - it probly depends on your pc and internet speed cause the download i did in 30 minutes and the installation in 20

Well i'm in the Philippines so my internet speed is really slow

here is the status and my current folder size is 47gb

 

It took me around 2hrs total to download and install 4.0 from scratch and I ended up with a 50+ gig Aion folder since it keeps the "Patch" folder after the update has finished which you should delete and that will free up 25 gigs or so and you'll be left with a 25 - 26 gig (varies it seems) Aion folder.

 

6hrs for 42% seem normal
also at PH

 

So i guess there is nothing wrong? (i'm just experiencing a slow process)
