[Guide] Idian Enchanting - How it works, how to get and what it does.

    Since i recently got access to Ari's test server i decided to make a guide about the new Idian Enchanting system added in 4.0


    What is Idian and how does it work?

    Idian Enchanting is a new system introduced in the 4.0 update to further upgrade your weapon's stats. It works like a mix between manastones and conditioning - you get an Idian consumable and apply it to your weapon, then for a certain amount of time it gives you a random stat boost which lasts A LOT longer than conditioning and augmenting. The only problem is that if you use another stone to increase the duration it might change your stats completely.

    How to get it?
    There are different ways to get it - as a drop from certain bosses, from special events (in retail but they might be hosted here too) and lastly with crafting. Since the instances which are supposed to have it as a drop aren't implemented yet i will be talking about the crafted Idian (Tidal Idian). Since it is a craft you need the design first, you can get it from an npc called Badurunerk in the Idian Depths (which also sells composite manastone and godstone recipes too). The design requires 500 points in Handicrafting and costs 18 Ancient Coins which you can get as a reward from quests in Katalam, Danaria and the Depths.

    What does it do?
    As mentioned above it increases your weapon's stats depending on the level and the type of the stone. There are 6 types of stones depending on the stats they give.
    1) Assistance - this type gives support/surviveability stats and is mostly meant for support chanters and clerics.
    2) Resistance - gives resist/surviveability stats and is used for defensive builds (chanter/templar/cleric).
    3) Physical Attack - gives physical offensive stats used by gladiators/templars/rangers/assassins/chanters.
    4) Physical Defence - gives physical defensive stats and is meant to be used by templars/chanters/gladiators.
    5) Magical Attack - gives magical offensive stats and is meant for sorcs/spiritmasters/songweavers/gunslingers/dps cleric
    6) Magical Defence - gives magical defensive stats and is meant for chanters/clerics
    7) Physical/Magical Attack - instead of giving you 2 stats from 1 type these stones give 1 stat from 2 types.
    8) Physical/Magical Defence - instead of giving you 2 stats from 1 type these stones give 1 stat from 2 types.

    List of stats you might get.
    These were tested with the noble tidal idian stones (the crafted ones), the highest level/grade (best) stones are called "Glossy Esoteric Idian" and there is currently no way to get them.

    1) Physical Defence + 80, Healing Boost + 18
    2) Physical Defence + 90, Healing Boost + 18
    3) Physical Defence + 90, MP + 260
    4) Healing Boost + 20, Magic Suppression + 55
    5) Magical Accuracy + 34, Magic Suppression + 60
    6) Accuracy + 50, Physical Defence + 100
    7) HP + 240, Healing Boost + 22
    8) HP + 240, Magic Suppression + 55

    Resistance:
    1) Magic Resist + 26, Magic Suppression + 55
    2) Strike Resist + 26, Spell Resist + 13
    3) Strike Resist + 26, Spell Resist + 15
    4) Strike Resist + 26, Spell Resist + 17
    5) Strike Resist + 30, Spell Resist + 13
    6) Strike Resist + 30, Spell Resist + 15
    7) Strike Resist + 30, Spell Resist + 17
    8) Strike Resist + 34, Spell Resist + 15
    9) Physical Defence + 90, Magic Resist + 30
    10) Physical Defence + 100, Magic Resist + 34

    Physical Attack:
    1) Accuracy + 44, HP + 220
    2) Accuracy + 47, HP + 240
    3) Accuracy + 44, Crit Strike + 30
    4) Accuracy + 47, Crit Strike + 34
    5) Attack + 6, PVP Physical Attack + 0,3%, PVP Magical Attack + 0,3%
    6) Attack + 6, Crit Strike + 26
    7) Attack + 7, Crit Strike + 30
    8) Evasion + 42, Crit Strike + 26

    Physical Defence:
    1) Physical Defence + 90, HP + 220
    2) Physical Defence + 100, HP + 260
    3) Physical Defence + 110, HP + 240
    4) Physical Defence + 100, PVP Physical Defence + 1,6%, PVP Magical Defence + 1,6%
    5) Evasion +45, Physical Defence + 90
    6) Parry + 35, HP + 220
    7) Block + 37, HP + 220

    Magical Attack:
    1) Magic Boost + 50, PVP Physical Attack + 0,3%, PVP Magical Attack + 0,3%
    2) Magic Boost + 50, Crit Spell + 13
    3) Magic Boost + 54, Crit Spell + 15
    4) Crit Spell + 15, Magic Accuracy + 26
    5) Crit Spell + 17, Magic Accuracy + 30
    6) Evasion + 42, Magic Boost + 46
    7) Magic Accuracy + 26, HP + 220
    8) Magic Accuracy + 30, HP + 240

    Magical Defence:

    1) HP + 220, Magic Suppression + 55
    2) HP + 240, Magic Suppression + 65
    3) HP + 260, Magic Suppression + 60
    4) PVP Physical Defence + 1,6%, PVP Magical Defence +1,6%, Magic Suppression + 60
    5) Evasion + 45, Magic Suppression + 55
    6) Parry + 35, HP + 220
    7) Block + 37, HP + 220

    Magical/Physical Defence & Magical/Physical Attack:

    After testing 289 stones and writing them all down i just cba to do these too, it's basically any random combination of the above stats like ...Mboost + 54, Crit Strike 26




    K that's about it, if I've missed anything feel free to painfully remind me about it.

    So that's why Sharp strike hits 100m, vicious blow 2147483647 and draining blow hits 0...

    longs/doubles/floats also used, which have a much higher limit =P

    longs for example have 64 bits as opposed to Integer's 32 bits, so ((2^64)/2)-1 = max positive/negative long number. Gamez might have it set to other data types but Ari's server uses Integers xD

    from right to left, you read that as 2^0 + 2^1(since it's 0 it's not counted) + 2^2 = 1 + 0 + 4 = 5.

    in any case, let me stop myself from hijacking this thread and instead offer to check dem Idians on the items.pak (if I can even remember how to open that thing), double check their stats xD
