    Rolled a cleric and she has a full jerkin set instead of an Archon Primus Pilus chain set. Is this meant to happen?

    yes because priests don't get the chain equip passive until they ascend to daeva. Create a warrior and you'll get the chain set but you'll never get an app plate from starter gear because just like priests, warriors don't get the plate equip passive until after ascension.
