New to Aion and New to Gamerz!

Hi, im new to this game and this server and just looking for some tips on how to get started here! A couple things that might help are what faction should I join and what class would anyone recommend. Any other positive input would we greatly accepted. Thanks!

 

Hi and welcome to gamezaion, i actually just cameback to aion yesterday, had been inactive since 4 years ago. Do asmo if you got hell inside, and do elyos if you wanna fap on sexybitches. As for classes, i'd suggest gladiator for a start, levelling up is not an issue so you can do other classes fit to you later. Cheers !

All classes have there pros and cons.

for example gladiator, templars, cleric and chanters have more physical defense then ranger, gunslinger , song weaver , sorcerer & spiritmaster.

Sins and rangers have hide abilities.

Cleric and chanter & bard have healing abilities (cleric obviously have the most heal skills) while chanter is a physical fighter (close range attacks with a few long range) with buffs/mantras/shields to support your group while bard (also known as songweaver ) is a cloth class with magical long range dps skills with mana healing skills.

So really depending on your game play choose that class remember you can have more then 1 character I play a few different classes, for me I prefer mage character so I would choose a class with magical attacks (spiritmaster, sorcerer or bard) I play bard xd

All classes are good all depends on how you play them

If you really from USA California as your profile suggests then you will have 2 digit ping at lease under 100 seen as the server is located in USA so you will have an advantage over most players seen as most players on this server are pinoys with 200-400+ ping.

lower ping = faster animation & attacks

Oh and for the server

Siel server = Full stigma meaning you can every skill that your class has

Lumiel = Normal stigma meaning you only can use a few skills not all (same as retail basically).

I don't recommend you playing gunner as most of the server are gunners (annoying class).

Also you should join asmo seen as the elyos population is around 50% bigger then asmo at the moment + asmo get some nice gifts from the survey event system (ely don't seen as they got alot more players) so more benefits on asmo side to get you setted up.

 

Hey all! Thanks for the tips! I did make a character on the Asmo side. I fell into a bit of a weird bug going on with my game and all i see are floating heads. Anyone know whats going on there?

 

Did you fully update your client? try repairing it.

It may be because of a missing file.

Also install the item pack to trade most items etc

P.S did you choose lumeil or siel?

If you choose siel I can assist you on leveling and gaining gears ect as I'm asmo as well xd

No, the problem is not the items.pak

The NCsoft launcher lets you play without fully installing the game, just run the NCsoft launcher, and hit of File Repair like Jensen said

 

Well, he said about floating heads which means some items (armors) are invisible to him cz he got old items pak. Been there once and items pak was the problem, He can save his time by using original/modified items pak from the guide (creds smart1k) instead of doing file repair. And Yes, The problem "might be" the items pak :3

 

Yes that used to be the problem in the past, however the NCsoft launcher now checks file by file, if you are using an old items.pak, it will download and update it, the Gamez Launcher does the same, if you are using an old Gamez file (or you don't have it at all), as soon as you run the Gamez Launcher (run it as administrator if it doesn't verify the files) it will ask you to update your client, and download/update said file

Now the most common issue which is the cause of "floating heads and no bodies", is the NCsoft launcher letting you play without fully installing the aion client, by re-running the launcher it continues the download/installation anyway, but if it doesn't, hit File Repair

 

Hey you were totally right! I like how games are letting us play during download but now I'm starting to think the opposite. :tongue:

Hey! I just want to start off by thanking you so much for all the input and help you've givin me. You were right about my launcher not downloading fully because right when I opened it, it started downloading again hah. Now I wanna say I made my character and got to level 18 just after finishing the quest to get my SpiritMasters class going. As for chooing siel or not... I do not recall coming across an option or not but I should be able to choose siel. If you could add my IGN Unbrokenbond and hopefully I did choose the right side and can receive your awesome help in-game as well! Once again thank you for helping me out.
