Hi everyone, I'm new to Gamez Aion as topic says
I've played Infinite Aion long time ago around 2.5 i quitted the game but lately the game is starting to get my attention again.
Since it's updated to 4.0 i'm lost, i don't know a thing if some one could help me out i would appreciate it
What classes are good now? I know templar a little bit but only from back in 2.5 is it changed allot?
And what's the difference between Lumiel and Siel?

    Thanks in advance!

Templar is definitely one of the stronger classes right now - if you're confident be sure to stick to it as the play style isn't much different, you just spam a repeatable chain after your Shining Slash and support better (tl;dr).
Other classes you may consider are Assassin, Spirit master and Gunslinger (not implying the rest are weak, these 3 + Templar are the "mainstream" classes).

Siel is more populated and players have all stigmas while Lumiel is a bit less crowded and has regular stigma system.

    Hi and welcome to Gamez!

What's new compared to 2.5? Well 4.0 introduced a lot of new features, items and of course two new classes, Bard and Gunner.
Both are magical classes and not hard to handle, yet i would suggest you to stick to your old class in order to get a better view about the game. Templar got few new skills during the passage from 2.5 to 4.0, i would suggest you to check them out here: Templar Skills
It is a pretty good class to start with, you will easily get access to instances if you play as a templar and you will be able to resist a lot during PvP.

The difference between Lumiel and Siel is that Lumiel follows the stigma system like retail, which means you aquire normal skills by leveling up but you need to choose your advanced skills (Stigmas) and socket them in order to create your own personal skill build (Like IA, since you come from it). Siel instead has all the skills and stigmas by default.

Ohh cool thank you allot! i will take a look at the templar skills, sounds amazing to me to have all stigma skills, can't wait to play
downloading the ncsoft launcher takes a little while, in mean time i'll watch some templar gameplay on youtube and check the templar skills!

    Thank you for you time:)

What's a good build for templar since 4.0? I used to had crit/acc build which worked pretty well, correct me if I'm wrong, but if I still remember it good i've been talking with some guy on Infinite Aion about templars going to use shield/mace or shield/sword?? because of some skills? and i just watched the skill list of templars and there are a few skills you need shield for, since i'm going to siel will i be needing it?

Templars usually go for Shield + Mace and Greatsword. I'd suggest you to use a mace because some skills such as Magic Smash are magical, therefore your damage will increase by a lot if you use a mace instead of a sword ( Maces increase MagicBoost, swords don't).
As for builds, 3.5 introduced new special manastones which contain 2 stats in one single stone, such as: crit/accuracy , attack/crit , crit/mr and so on. If you are going to play as templar, i would suggest you to find a good balance between Crit Strike, Accuracy and Magic Resist. No need to socket loads of attack manastones as templar, you already have enough buffs to boost up your attack power. Magic Resist is essential nowdays due to the big amount of magic classes and skills based on mb/ma.

Wut. Most people have more Magic Supp than the MB of a mace on temp, making magic smash almost the same damage as swords. The sword then has 2.0 crit multiplier and physical stats, i dun get this.

Magic damage multiplier can be <1. Though you may be right about swords being better overall as long as the player doesn't rely on Magic Smash (like Seoul for example).

not magic damage multipier, i mean if a sword has 0mb and the mace has 1200 mb they'd both hit the same damage vs a target with 1200 msupp....unless i'm missing out on the part where msupp can make your damage even lower with 0mb.

And ain't all magic damage at 1.5x for crits?

Edit: The difference can be negative.

Yes, except for Refracting Shard which crits 3x.

    Builds?

Crit/Acu stills works well, lots of dmg but you become more dependent of def buffs

Crit/block some use it to use more the Greatsword since you mitigate more dmg from melees.

Crit/Mr this is to resist some stuff, but without Aether Armor does nothing against casters. very used here with all the gunslingers going around, specially if you solo.

How you mix depends on your gear and play style.

Maces have Mboost, but it your Mboost (and by extension your Macc) isnt high enough it wont do much for your Mboost based skills.
Maces do have more crit but the min/max diff makes it more RNG dependent. I like sword more, more attack speed and constant dmg plus more accu. not many will agree, but its a choice.

In my opinion the shields is what makes the templar what it is, without it is a nerfed glad. With shield you have some more attack skills, a couple def skills and the shield stances that really makes the world different. The greatsword is for finishers or for extra dmg when the play is on your side. Me thinks.
