When you make a spreadsheet to organize all the skills by (healing, support, damage), cooldown time, cast time, and descriptions

just so you know what those skills actually do

I don't think anyone does that... but that is one reason why leveling slow like in retail helps.. because you only get a few skills at a time instead of like all your skills in a couple hours.

I took a good 2 hours to arrange my skills on cleric, only to forget what they all did a week later....

 

I'm usually good at remembering my skills *glares at Ddraig* but I just set up my solo bar and my group bar (with only a few empty spaces on all 4 quick bars, I don't use pleb floating bars) and I'm already getting a bit confused looking at my setup.

Oh well, that's what practice is for. Here comes a lot of embarrassing deaths.

I try to organize them by functionality + cd + color, like all KD skills on 2 (alt+2, ctrl+2, shift+2), all ranged on 3 and all aoes on 6,7,8.

If you're using 7, 8+ without a Naga or similar, then yes.

 

Best thing is to learn how to use them and to watch out your MP, if you can do that, it's already a good step forward imo

No i click them, but it's ok since it's all either active skills, return or DP skills

 

well I mean yeah that's what I did with my bard, I have one sidebar that has the healing skills, I have my HP heals first in order of which heals more and which is instant casting time, then I have like a random emote as a separator then I have my MP regen skills in the same order

I have another one where on the first 4 spots I have a line of the buffs I should be using all the time and then all my other cast-on-self skills like rez/remove debuffs etc etc

And the rest of my skillbar has to do with organizing them in order as to which one has a zero casting skill, which one has huge damage and takes 5 seconds to cast, which one only inflicts damage and doesn't paralyze/silence etc the target and stuff like that

I mean if you organize your skillbars like that I'm sure it'll be easier, I learnt my bard skills like that but at the same time cleric is more complicated I guess

 

Clerics only have a few skills that do specific things other than dot/heal/dmg, so there are only a handful of skills such as chain of suffering or storm of aion that have a specific ability, anything else is just a simple heal or dot.. Same goes for most classes, aion is just a game it's not advanced chemistry ;o
