Stuck at server selection

    I'm a new user, and am apparently experiencing some similar problems as several other posters. My client currently becomes stuck at the 'server select' screen, with it's scrolling hallway and impressive music.

    I've followed all the steps that have been posted here, such as fully updating my client via the NCSoft launcher (fresh install, in fact), running the 'repair' option, rebooting both my system and my network, etc. I am currently running XP, and have been using the recommended .bat file to start the client (after placing the .dll's where they belong), all to no avail.

    Before folks start in with the 'upgrade to Win7' flames, that's not going to happen. Call me old-fashioned, but I find 7 to be a non-intuitive kludge best suited for surfing the net and social networking. I do actually use my rig for other things.

    That being said, is there some fix for this? I am not alone in having this issue, if recent posts are any indication.

    I'm going to guess that you need a downgrade, as TarantadongPinoy said, but any further than that, I would need to know what kind of error you get.

    As for the Downgrade, it is currently being worked on and should be released soon.

    I don't actually get an error per sey, the client simply stops responding. There's no error message, CTD, or anything else so dramatic. However, being overpatched would completely explain it. My thanks for the prompt replies, and I do hope the issue gets resolved swiftly. Just my luck, eh? =)

    I have the same problem I updated AION with NCsoft launcher and now I cant connect to gamezaion

    You can't still connect to GamezAion unless you don't have the downgrade.

    The whole Aion client's size is about 25.9 GB

    That is what the NCsoft launcher would be downloading if it takes so long, and of course it depends on your download speed as well

    2 days sounds about right. Took me that long. Which is why I was so dissapointed when I discovered I could not play. However, I have some faith this dev team will get the job done, and I'm a patient man. =)
