[4.0 to 4.5] [request] manual patch update

is it possible to manually patch my aion 4.0 to 4.5 without using the retail aion client?

i just copied my aion 4.0 client from a friend and i don't know how to update it... any ideas? :sad:

 

i think it goes like this...u backup your 4.0 client files and download NCsoft launcher...then you run it and cancel when it starts downloading all from the start...now you copy your backed up files into that NCsoft/AION folder and replace all....then you run NCsoft again and it should realize u already have most files and will download just what is missing...

i think this should work but im not 100% because they keep changing it every few months or so :S

 

This works unless there are "corrupted" files or files the launcher doesn't have access to, which would result in the end as "NCsoft launcher update problems", which can be solved by either deleting the corrupted files, or just simply restarting the launcher (if you try to update a running client would give you "access denied" problems so it's already obvious what to do here)

I could work on all the 4.5 files the 4.0 client is missing but it's a pretty big amount of GBs for that and my upload speed sucks plus I don't really have much time free

SAM Guille , how many gigz does this update from 4.0 to 4.5 is? my ISP implements a cap of 15 gigz per month

and if i reach that cap, my internet connection crawls like a worm

 

The NCsoft launcher when downloading an update, it downloads compressed files that would afterwards be added to the current files you have (.pak files are compressed files, with a lot more files inside), so making what you asked for would be bigger than the single update with the NCsoft launcher.

Depending on the actual version of the 4.0 client you have (<4.0.0.0 or >4.0.0.9), you would be downloading from 5 to 1.3 GB

 

ah it seems impossible to update this patch on my slow computer...
