Log-in from Character Select Failure

Hey Team,

Since updating the launcher and client I have continually had an issue with logging into the game.

Essentially I keep going in the same circles. I have updated the launcher, (verified I am using 4.5.0.7) restarted the PC, and downloaded the updated Item.pak, but this keeps happening. I login, it tells me I am already logged in. I click Ok and log in, then it takes me to my characters but no button backgrounds show. I select a character, and then it tells me to reconnect. After that, I either click reconnect and it brings be back to the login screen, or Ok which closes the game. Please advise.

 

Mind getting teamviewer to check out your client?

 

Hey Guille, Thanks for the quick reply - I figured given my timezone it might be a while so I uninstalled and am in process of reinstalling entirely - if the error persists I will install TeamViewer.

After doing a complete re-install I am still running into issues with the game producing the "You are already logged in / You have been disconnected from the server" error. I am able to see my characters, the game buttons now, but currently the same behavior is going on with the client. Any advice would be appreciated if anyone has run into this before.

 

This used to do this for my client. I would have to type my password 3 times before it got to my character screen. The first time it would say "You have been disconnected". The second time it would say "You are already logged in". And the third time would work and bring me into the character selection. I don;t know if you tried putting your info three times instead of two but this works for me.

Edit: If you can't get past the character selection page, I have no idea how to help you =(

 

Checked, client missing about 5 GB, the download process is still going on

 

Per Guille's help, it appears that I hadn't actually downloaded the entire client. I have about 309 files left to add into the update. Guille explained it pretty well:

Essentially the client lets you "Play" enough while it is downloading by letting you get to the Character Build screen - it figures if this is a first time install you will spend time customizing your character and the rest can download. What Guille checked as an indicator was the client folder file size:

Full client size= ~27 GB
I had right now ~22 GB


I will attempt this again once everything downloads and will update here shortly.

Same exact connection / disconnection problem when logging into my main. It will let me create a character, logging into one of my old characters fails, but logging into a new one works.

Update - I can successfully log into new characters, but any existing character I have causes the game to crash entirely.

 

Character Select Screen Crashes on Existing Characters

Ongoing problem from previous thread about log-in issues. New characters allow the game to run, but selecting an existing character pre-update immediately crashes the game. Please advise.

Current popular theory is any of my characters who were in Pandemonium at the time of update are currently "hard stuck" - no solution until the server restarts or to just delete my characters.

 

Well, it has been a week and no update from any GM or staff beyond "We're working on it." If anyone else has this problem with the client crashing or disconnecting from the server on certain characters, please feel welcome to post here.

No news is not good news, and since it seems like we will not be getting updates from the staff until a fix is implemented, I am going to continue to keep an eye out and update the multiple threads as I see them.
