No I know, it's the same in french
I don't mind the word when it's actually used for babies, like, infants, but it makes me puke if I see a couple (english speaking, even worse) call each other "bebe"

 

I dislike the word and its uses as well.
But I just label the person saying it as stupid, and treat them as such.
