New player having a question before starting.

Hi, I'm pretty new to your server and found it being at the most top place on most of the top server lists. The rates and all seem nice and it seems to be a very populated and active server. But I have some negative experiences from official Aion.

How do you deal with campers and lowlevel-farmers here? I don't mind PvP and I am interested in this myself but I would prefer doing quests and stuff rather in peace than being camped and farmed all day and night. Reason for this is, I'd like to get used to my class, learn about its skills and just because I prefer manual leveling way much over instant-65.
The only zones where I worry about bad people a bit are Eltnen and Heiron as they are zones where you most easily can farm people for AP.
About Balaurea, I hope that there are enough players around to keep control over the farmers and campers. This is the only server I found which has a forum and a rather serious looking site and also the latest update. So it would be really great to know about how people deal with this bad kind of players.

Wow, thanks for the fast answers. I'm currently fixing the "program is unavailable in your country"-error and would go to Lumiel as Elyos. Lumiel is the server with stigma system, right? Because I got told from several friends that having no stigma system will create a rather unbalanced combat. But I'm not asking for level help, don't worry. Just would like to level up in peace without kids and trolls farming me constantly like on official Aion.

PS: joining might take some time... I can't get this error fixed... I try a clean reinstall, should not take long since I have a rather good connecton.

That's how you can fix your problem! Reinstalling Aion won't help much, it depends on which language your Windows is and that's why you are getting this error.

 

Derp. .-. Yeah, installation is already running. And yes, I have found that thread already. First thing I did before opening this thread was to look for some FAQ and general problems/solutions thread in case I run into errors.

But yeah, doing the steps described did not fix it. Error persisted, so I'm trying a clean install now. But instead of editing this clean game, I will just copy&repaste it and use the repasted one for gamez. So in case something screws up again, I just remove the duplicate and repaste the clean one again.

PS: wait. does the copied stuff from L10N\enu go to L10N\deu or L10N\1-deu? My windows is german and I had these language folders both with the 1- and without it. Pasted the copied stuff from the enu folder in 1-deu did not help but I was too dumb to try the other deu-folder.

Are you using the NA Launcher or the Gameforge Launcher? Just making sure, because a lot of german people are trying to play Gamez Aion with Gameforge which is not working. And it should be L10N/ENU to L10N/DEU.

 

Of course I do not use this retarded GF launcher. I use the one from NCSoft, which is sadly a standalone one without the specific settings of the old launcher now.

And why should I place the files NOT in 1-deu...?

 

Because the folders L10N/ENU, DEU and the others, are the main language folders.

Lolwut. 53,4gb to copy, hell I missed something. Last time I played Aion it was just 20gb.

 

Patch folder can be large. My folder is 28 gb but I delete the unnecessary extra files

You have to copy whats inside Aion/L10N/ENU into Aion/L10N/DEU.

First of all, Welcomes to Gamez and Lumiel. If you need assistance in-game, let me know. I can hop on and guide you.

Essentially we don't have to deal with low level campers because there is none. Leveling here is dramatically faster than on retail, you'll outlevel the Eltnen/Heiron zones very fast. This means you could quest in peace without disturbance with people trying to constantly gank you until you reach the higher level maps in Balaurea. Obviously, you won't be instantly 65 at start, there is still a minor manual leveling to adapt to your class over the few hours.

Additionally, Obelisk Camping is against the server rules. If you see anyone obelisk camping, take some screenshots and post it in the Reports section and it'll be dealt with accordingly. Kisk camping is also heavily frowned upon (but not punishable). Some anti-kisk camping NPCs have been put in place for certain PvP areas like Gelkmaros.

On Lumiel, the PvP is heavily focused near the forts and npc camps in Gelkmaros. Occasionally you'll run into others doing bloodmark quests in Katalam/Danaria and have little skirmishes (hence Skirmisher set =o). We also have constant battlegrounds going on for altnernative 1vs1, GvG or FFA type PvP.

As for your issue about the size of the AION folder. Once you've updated and completed the installation of AION. You might want to consider delete those "%patch" folders. They're essentially useless and will double the size of your entire AION folder. As discussed and pointed out by others, the "Not available in your country" is fixed by copying everything in your Aion/L10N/ENU folder into Aion/L10N/DEU folder.

Lol, don't worry. The entire Aion folder is that large. I copied it into an empty folder so in case something screws up, I have the clean installation as a backup.

Everything fixed, updated and installed. Didn't even have the invisible-bodies problem at game launching. And yeah, Lumiel then seems to be my favourite. And I like not being instantly 65 at start. The x50 quest rates and x200 general exp rates should give a good balance between a decent level speed and not having to leave behind all the quests. So yeah, will be ingame today and try getting used to the game again.

And I really hope Gamez keeps the manual level process, without instant-65. Imo, this instant-levelcap thingy does not help anyone in PvP as you have no real time to get used to the skills, it's more like you are overwhelmed by a crapload of skills.
