Problems installing Gamez launcher in windows 8

So I upgraded my OS to windows 8....big mistake inched:

Reinstalled Aion 4.5 from scratch that took almost 5 hrs. :sick:
Applied item.pak ok....

Now the real problem....

When I install the Gamez Aion launcher, it gives me this message.

"Gamez Aion has not been totally installed because of the following reason:

The access to the following file is denied:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NCsoft\Aion\bin64\dbghelp.dll

You will have to run this utility again to completely install Gamez Aion."

Tried all the advice I saw in the forums without success....any ideas out there? I'm willing to experiment just to get this sucker to work....Thanks in advance.

 

Try Changing your UAC to allow all changes to anything on your computer without premission. IF that doesnt work, delete that dbghelp file.

Hello, If you dont know how to deactivate UAC, i have a tutorial here for you:

And dont forget to restart your computer after you changed the settings in UAC.

After that i think you have to repair your client again with the NCSOFT launcher, than downgrade again and move your item.pak. Feel free to write us again if you run in some problems. Have fun playin Aion

 

TY for the advice..that actually let me install the program. But now a new problem came up.
I am able to initialize the game, but as soon as I enter my account name and password, the "game client" crashes.
Any advice on this?

By the way, after initializing the game launcher, the "verifying files" meter/bar remains blank. But the server status is "online" and I am taken to the login menu, only it crashes right after entering the account name and password.

 

Its because of the UAC in Windows 8 you have those problems, the launcher couldnt install properly all files or some are broken. You have to repair your client.

 

Try that first

 

OK...didn't help as well....damn! I shouldn't have upgraded to Wincrap8 >.<

Neways, my whole Aion folder size is 46.6 GB, not 26-27 GB....is this wrong?

And I completely turned UAC off...still the same results.
