Hey guys.. i have a question although i am not sure it is possible.
I need to format my PC, but it would take too long to download the aion client from scratch.
So.. is it possible to backup part (or even all of it) and then just update any files missing on the new installation?
has anyone tried it? my internet speed is really slow (even though i pay for 24Mbps i usually only get arround 8 or 10).
    Thanks for your help.

You can save the Aion client anywhere (USB, External Hard Drive) and even run it from there, the beauty of Aion is that it doesn't need to be installed because all the files it uses (besides DirectX) are in its folder. When you are done with your computer you can move the client again and play just like that, no need to update it or anything

Last time i tried it, it didn't work like that.. i think that the new launcher (after patch 4.5) has something to do with it, but i am not certain...
    Thanks for the answer though..

I still got my aion from 4 years ago, went through 4 PCs (from my old PC to my friends PC, from my friends old PC to his new PC, and from friends new PC to my new PC) and it's working.
Though in 4.0 i got some issues with updating, but figured it out.

I've moved the 4.0 client over to my laptop fine. This was after NCsoft introduced their new launcher to installations. The NCsoft launcher shouldn't have an impact on transferring AION to another computer. You'll have to ensure that all files from the AION folder are copied over to the portable hard-drive and nothing is corrupted or missing during the copy.

So i just copy all the NCSoft folder and then run the installer on the new machine?
What about the NCWest folder? is it needed?
    thanks.

Copy everything inside the "NCSoft/AION" folder (or whichever path you've installed AION). All depends where you installed the client. Some people have it as "NCWest/AION", others it is "NCSoft/AION".

You don't need to run the installer on the new machine. Just paste the entire AION folder into the drive and it should load fine. The NCsoft updater is only for updating/repairing the client.
