Well since you're the one who designed GABS and probably AMCP, I'm directing this at you.

Probably sounds like a stupid idea in the first go (I'm sure GM's would potentially hate it), but I suggest re-working the idea of the Ban System and turning it into an Offense System. Last I checked, only temporary bans and permanent bans were logged in the Ban System (quite obviously lol), and only Seniors and higher have the ability to view global Temporary Bans, which I personally find it to be a flaw since, unless you're the one always issuing bans, you'll never know which of the three strikes the user is on.

The idea behind the Offense System would be that all offenses, regardless of the action taken on it, would get logged in the system, along with the evidence of the offense and the action taken by the staff member; it could even log warnings and such. The idea behind it would be to have the user up to date on the actions taken against him and why they were taken, and to allow regular staff members to follow up on the user's "criminal record" in order to take more appropriate actions without having to bother teal names or above.

It would mean extra documenting work for the staff members in some scenarios, but it would also mean it's a fair play for everyone. It would also present the opportunity to rework the three strikes into a point system instead, just like forum offenses are handled pretty much.

Better now, back to the topic, its should be good but have a lot work too, not for lautaro for AMs, maybe that's why you said ''(I'm sure GM's would potentially hate it)'' I agree with your idea but SAMs and HGMs dont need ''proof'' ''usually'' to ban a player.

Now this is bcz he saw the player ussing hack or doing wrong thighs with his own eyes and no need to give evidence OP.

Why would you want him to change that? It's a very helpful link and is beneficial to many people. At this point trust, I don't know if you're attempting to troll or just being foolish.

On topic, I actually find this to be a very valid idea/suggestion. There are some dumb players here that just ignore warnings or temp bans and repeat their offence or break other rules whilst warned about another. Having a collaborative system makes sense for repeating offenders and prevent overlapping first issue punishments.

However there's the complication of the huge number of accounts to keep track. Even with this system, tracking down things is still going to be a pain. Not to mention many players have multiple accounts.

 

You too are quite annoying and most of your posts don't make sense aka they're fucking retarded yet noone says anything about it.

 

I banned without proof a few years ago. It wasn't contested but boy did I get yelled at. Banning also wasn't quite so intricate back then though (as in no panel)

I remember that. I also remember Sanctus banning with the shittiest proof of all time. A 5 second 360P video that didn't prove a damn thing. It made me make my first wall of text posts explaining that GMs should have good evidence when banning people. I remember back when I was mod saying that ALL bans due to hacking or blatant bug abuse would require proof, because if that's not followed then it would boil down to banned player's word vs GM's word and in most of those cases the GM's word would win out. And that could also theoretically lead to GM's potentially banning people they don't like and just saying they saw them hacking would be a good enough reason to do so.

I was mostly ignored.

I still have videos left on my xfire (before I switched to fraps), I think there was only 1-2 times I didn't take proof simply because I was so sure of the ban that I knew it wouldn't be needed, and unlike my previous post stated it actually WAS contested because now that I look at old ban logs I see that we didn't keep proof in our logs, we only needed to be able to provide proof if it was brought up so I figured "meh, this is a sure ban, I can skip it today", nope. The guy contested it and I didn't have the proof. He still remained banned though because it was pretty obvious and I didn't back down.

Its amusing to think of how much better things are actually run now, in many aspects.

 

The few videos Sanctus had were crap quality 360P, sometimes he decided to splurge and go up to 480P. The big video I mentioned before was when he banned Furious by following him around for about 10 seconds and Furious only "skipped" ahead a foot or two and then "rubberbanded" back right after due to what anyone with a brain would realize as server lag and not hacking. Sanctus banned him and said that was proof of hacking.

I did some experiments with Furious the next night and we were able to recreate what happened several times by following each other around and recording it and I posted those videos up in my first wall of text post proving that Furious wasn't hacking and that Sanctus was a dumbass. Furious was shortly unbanned after that and Sanctus hated me every since.

I also remember the guy you talked about He was pretty pissed but like I said before the way things were handled there could lead to problems with GM's abusing their powers and banning people you don't like. I'm not saying that you were or are guilty of such misconduct as I've always known you to be legit when it comes to stuff like that but you can't deny the POSSIBILITY of someone at least being tempted to just ban a player they don't like and then just saw they saw them zooming around the map like The Flash on crack.

But the main thing is at the end of the day, it's not that hard to make decent quality videos when you suspect someone of foul play. Get Xfire, Fraps, Bandicam, something and at least record the guy in question. If it's cut and dry and you ban him and he does nothing then that's cool. If he get's all pissy and comes back demanding blood, then just upload the video proof and expose him for the lying scumbag he is.

Then cut off his manhood and feed it to the goats.

Oh no I agree completely, as I said things are run much better now than they were before. I just find it amusing to reminisce on the differences.

This criteria brightens my day and (I) wanna give a hug of THANKS to SirJoseph making a good and enhanced system for players... I mean, It is more proper and evident, truthful and in real-time duration... If everyone bothers about how AMs, GMs, SAMs or HGMs dealt with it, all i can say is that it is part of their duties and obligations.... Hope u guys understand this as I am better than '-Trust Sony-' do.​
