Every season has had filler, I honestly think people talking about filler in this season are clouded by the overly dramatic (that's a good thing) scenes of past seasons compared to the relatively balanced drama of this season. I felt like every episode delivered something good.

The thing is though, filler is required, and if they change parts of the story to make it go by faster they have to add the filler to make it fit. That's what happened in some of this season, generally speaking, Bran's story as well as Brienne's went by extremely fast in comparison to all the filler story they have in the books. Dany and Sansa as well, though I wouldn't say they had as much filler because they stuck to their stories with less detail.

I think this season had lots of drama at a better, more balanced pace than previous seasons, but filler is going to happen and for all of Nick's rantings I think it could've been worse. Stories change, let's not freak out about minor adjustments to make things fit better for TV (I mean, the story of Tysha would've been great for leading up to Tywin's murder, but it would've confused the fuck out of show watchers. They have limited time and they have to make the story work for TV which doesn't get the benefit of entire pages of detail.)

I still don't know why everyone was expecting LSH. Yeah, Lena Headley dun goofed by hinting at it, but I never expected it to begin with. Would it have been a good ending? Yes. The show had several good ending scenes and the Arya one was perfect. Keep in mind in the books LSH is only hinted at. I won't go into details for the sake of show watchers but any book reader knows when/how LSH makes an appearance and IT DID NOT FIT.

On another note, I've followed this person's artwork all season but this is by far my favorite of his works

Lena wasn't the one who dun goofed. It was the show guys who dun goofed. If they would have done it, then the Lady Stoneheart reveal would probably be THE biggest "HOLY SHIT!" moment in the show. Probably even bigger than the Red Wedding. Hell it may have been the biggest one of all time in the history of movies and television, or at least make the top 10 in a Cracked article.
