What class is good to play long range?

Hi! I'm thinking of playing a long range class. Which class is good? Pvp wise with better survival? Most suggested ranger or song weaver...

 

Gunslinger if you want to spam easy chain skills with high damage.. it looks like a ranger but with better damage.. songweaver is challenging cause you need to do some healings and defending your self.. Ranger nowadays has a low damage not sure if it's bug or something but you need to be more specific like doing traps etc..

Ranged classes in AION: Ranger, Gunslinger, Cleric, Songweaver, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster

Out of those, ones good at damage are: Ranger, Songweaver, Sorcerer, Gunslinger.
Classes with good survivability are: Cleric, Songweaver, Spiritmaster

Problem with playing any cloth classes despite their survivability skills is that they're usually the first targets in PvP. This is especially prominent if you play Spiritmaster as people absolutely hate fighting against them. Cleric is considered a range class that excels in survival and support but lacks major DPS/Magic accuracy if they slot MR/block stones.

If you're looking for any ranged damage classes, Ranger and Songweaver is definitely worth learning. Songweaver is similar to a Sorcerer in many aspects, only way better as they get healing skills and resistance buffs. While Rangers is more straight forward but slide-shotting and kiting is still necessary to master. Gunslingers are just magical variant of Rangers, no skills required, lots of button mashing.

I think I will play glad. Easy class to play for mass pvp and has good survival rate haha

Ranger's dmg is pretty low tho...imo sorcerer or gunner/dps cleric are better, but songweaver is a nice ranged class aswell, having heals both mana and hp, and nukes para bind and silence, they can pretty much kill everything if played well.

*sarcasm* It's tanky and ranged!! Cleave, Mocking Blast, Force Blast, Ankle snare and then pull out a bow auto attack for the win.

Ranking them easiest to hardest to play and master completely I'd go something like this Gunslinger, Cleric, Songweaver, Spiritmaster, Sorcerer, Ranger. With Gunslinger (button mash class) being the easiest cleric pulling up at second just for the simple fact that its a tank on wheels eventually you'll get the hang of it (unless ur like brain-dead). Songweaver is actually not that difficult to play and honestly its playstyle resembles Spiritmaster more than it does a sorc. It took me right about 3 days of playing it to just wreck any and everyone. On this server at least. Spiritmaster for all the bad hype it gets is honestly not as easy to master as people say it is. Yes its easy to play but learning how to properly control multiple targets and learning the Dpsing secrets takes time and practice...lots of it...Now i only put sorcerer after SM because honestly its just not my playstyle i can wreck just about anyone 1 v 1 with a sorc but when it comes to world pvp thats an entirely different story and in my opinion takes a lot of practice to become super good at this class(more than im willing to give it...its too slow for me i like my classes fast and flashy :3). And well Ranger pulls up last with its low survivability with very little to no room for mistakes and just the fact that ive seen maybe 2 actual pro rangers since I've started playing aion and neither of them play gamez lol.

Best long ranger class with survival? I would have to vote is songweaver mainly because they got clenses & heals and buffs that give alot of resistance while also having good dps with fairly short cool downs on most skills and there mana healing abilities can make them last a while during a fight unlike other classes that would most likely die during a long long battle due to eventually running out of MP (I always run out of mp on my sorcerer and that's basically my death seen as they use a ton load of MP) it just never happens on songweaver

Also as Ethan said songweaver isn't to hard to play only thing I would suggest is stocking up on as much attack speed items as possible (woc2 and attack speed harp) otherwise your animation is going to be ridiculously slow especially if you got high ping. Most of my friends didn't even play songweaver until attack speed harps got released
