Hi there!

Trying to login for the first time; game launches and I can login with no problems at all. However, when it asks me to choose a server, it will not progress. No error codes or anything, and the animated background keeps working fine.

I've tried clicking OK to choose the recommended Lumiel server, and also choosing No and selecting Siel manually, but it still doesn't get anywhere.

Regular game servers work just fine (or they were a couple days ago, anyway).

Any suggestions?

What version is your game. Make sure you added an exception to your firewall for gamezaion.

I can't seem to find the usual version.txt file, but the VersionInfo_AION.ini shows version as:

GlobalVersion=42
DownloadIndex=0
LocalLevel=9
DownloadLevel=9

Last I checked, I was at x.x.x.14, and hadn't received the newest update. I'm trying to run a repair with the launcher on the off-chance, but it keeps bloody downloading it fresh onto my C: drive (which is my SSD with limited storage, not where the game is installed).

As for the firewall, I'm using MSE, and UAC is turned off.

Hey there,
about your drive C problem, there is a easy way to change the install dir. for the NCsoft launcher.

I uploaded some pictures, it should make it easier to understand.

The first step:

start the regeditor, if you dont know how, Here is vid. tutorial

After you opened regedit, move to the following dir.

if you use a windows32bit go to:
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NCWest\Aion

if you use a 64bit system go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NCWest\ Aion

Now, when you found the right folder you should see on the right side some values and names, like that:
[IMG]

Double click on BaseDir:

Now you change the install folder for your Aion to the drive you wish for.

Good luck~

P.S If you have a complete new downloaded client in drive C, copy that one into the new drive and downgrade than.

Hey Underdog, thanks for taking the time to post the regfix, but I found the reg entry myself when trying to get the install directory changed (why it's not part of the launcher by default, is beyond my understanding).

Everything works, near as I can tell. Although you may be able to answer a question for me! When doing a repair, is there any way to stop the launcher from being unable to find the directory, and re-downloading to C: again, fresh?

You can change the directory where NCsoft launcher downloads & repairs client files, with the registry thing. If the launcher is unable to locate your files, you made something wrong, if thats the case send me some screenshots of your registry folder from aion.
