Hello.

I had an account maybe a year ago ... possibly two years ago. It had like 3 characters in it, they were relatively high level, I had bought credits or whatever and spent it, and now my account just seems to be gone. It's possible i'm really retarded and can't for the life of me remember my login, but at the time I only used 3 and I checked all of them, none of them exist.

Are accounts deleted after a certain amount of time? Is there anything I can do to try to retrieve my characters?

 

Accounts are automatically deleted if it's been inactive for more than 7 months so most likely your account has been gone for quite some time.

Just start over fresh, what you had on your account then are obsolete today. It's easy to get geared now since shep/amba sets and weapons can now be purchased with just ceramium medals and AP. Acquiring the two requirements are easy as well.

Its sad to give this info but it is true, as bordy said if you were inactive for 7 months your account is automatically removed.

Is this true? Are you sure? or maybe premium user cant be deleted? I just got back from 5 year of not playing aion but still i have my account... Although a certain person rob me of all my precious item... By the way im a premium user.....

If you've logged on the site in the mean time, your account will still be 'active'.

If it has been that long since you last played, best bet is to just start over anyways since 2 year old toons will have outdated gear. As a new toon, you will get instant level 60 with level 60 PVP gear and you can easily gear yourself up to make yourself competitive.
