Advice on Cleric Sets

Hi

I got my Arbiter chain set today.

I know how to play Cleric on retail but I never actually played it on gamez.

I know I can get 2 sets. But I am wondering the type sockets I should prioritize. If I had 3 sets. Ill get one block, one MA/MB and one MR.

Right now I got a Block Set but I am trying to figure out what I should have my second set. I love to do support because I am more of a helper than a fighter, So I am thinking that my second set be MR. But I am also thinking that I will have those situations where I will be by myself and someone attacks me and my DPS will not be enough to kill the other player but I know I can out heal him and kite him and survive the buffs.

So should my second set be MR or MA/MB or MB/MA?

One Mr set.
One block set.
weapons to accommodate both.

If you really wanna go out on a limb, get a ma/boost set as well. and fused staffs.

 

But would that be really needed since most magic classes here use full MA/MB? making the MR only act like a 30 or 40% resistance?

Well I use to play with a MR set with some Block an my shield when I was support, worked pretty well for me. And my 2nd set is MB/MA mostly as MB is more important to me than MA as I wanted to be able to kill someone too. The problem with this set is that your MR gets pretty low so if you are good with your heals, you'll be fine, like I am. But for newbie I wouldn't suggest it. I just dislike to have too many sets, but if you have just two, like me, I think it's fine and fun to play with.

 

Ill probably try that. Since I know there will be moments when Ill be alone or the last person in the group and the only way to kill the other player is by increasing my damage output.

 

It helps especially against plate classes which I like a lot and this was my problem in the first place. Good luck on that~!

 

Yea, I play cleric on retail. I find plates easy. The only problem with them is the templars who pull alot. But besides that, if I can survive the Berserking Buff of a Gladdy or avoid being stumbled alot. My biggest problem with Cleric are SW and Sorcerers. Songweavers tend to love to knock out my Mana and as a mana dependant class, that causes trouble and Sorcerers just OP Nuke me all the time.

I heard high HP helps with Concentration. Is that true?

 

Well Cleric on retail is pretty different to me, especially with the normal stigma system. But I agree on fighting against SWs and Sorcerers. They are a huge pain especially here on Siel with all the skills, I wouldn't say that about retail though.

What do you mean with "concentration"? Do you mean not to interrupt your healing skills? ._.

 

Yea, interrupting any casting skill.

 

MCC glasses are the best solution for this.

 

K, Ill look for one of those. Yea, that was always my biggest problem that caused most of my deaths. I'll be at 70% cast of a heal and then it would stop and I'll die XD

You need to start testing out a bit, like use the heal before you're actually done casting while jumping. Uhm, there was a name for it I think but I forgot. I'll take a look if I can find an example for it, but my point was that it's very useful especially while PvPing.

Hi dear, my advice is:
If you have only one set for now, you can test 2300 ~2400 MR cause of the godstone proc, cause your a cleric, you just have to spam cleanse and heal fast to survive magic classes, and the rest of the slots you socket block, with mythical accessories you can reach 4000 block + or -, unless you have more than one set, i think this is the best choice (special thx to @ThatsTooBad for teach me somethings ^^)

 

I actually just got a Principle chain for my chanter. I'm going to start playing chanter and Cleric.

So one set for each will be good for now. Unless I can trade my other gear for another set. Thanks for the input.
