Maybe I should have posted this under Questions and not Problems or somewhere between the two because it's actually both.
Anyways, recently, a few weeks ago I've seen a similar thread about a guy posting a video of his problem.
He just clicked on his Ancient Ring of Magic and it literally vanished out of the blue.

Fortunately, he was lucky enough to record it or I'm not sure how he caught it on video as not everyone has the chance to be prepared for such bugs to happen, whatever, he probably got his ring back by now.
I've heard this was not the first time when someone experienced the same bug about rings, although the only difference was that this time the dude did not have any recording program running while the issue occured, only some SS's minutes after what had happened.
He was told that since the item was not found on his account, his item can not be restored as it must be a player error.

Here's the video of the other guy who had the same problem weeks ago if anyone wants to check it out btw. He could record it fortunately:

My question would be, how can we be prepared for when our ring of ancient decides to vanish the same way in the future? Is there any way for AM's to check trade/mailing/delete logs which could prove that none of these cases happened so when a player informs a Staff member about a similar situation, they would not take it as an attempt to get items from the Staff?

I understand sometimes players don't send the appropriate proof of their problem, therefore the Staff have no choice but refuse to give any restoration to them.
Although, the thing is that most of us might not even notice it at the moment when we click on it since as for me naturally I don't really expect any of my items to vanish as it is shown in the video above.
I got my ring from OP trading as well and I would not be glad if the same thing happened to me without any restoration.

I would appreciate if anyone could kindly let me know what proof would be valid enough (if I actually notice this issue on the spot) in such case.
    Thank you in advance. ♥

Wow never saw this issue..Definitely seems like a bug..It probably disappeared because the guy in the video already had his ROAM on, but then he used it again, therefore bugging it. That's just my opinion. As far as I know, ROAM is a permanent scroll usage. It shouldn't disappear like that.

I guess before you use your ROAM, make sure you record it as well before you use it.

Ty for making us aware of this issue :D

Yea, I recall myself recording a couple of times in the past when there was a bug about remodels. But honestly, not everyone has the opportunity to keep a recorder on every single hour. And as I mentioned above, sometimes I just click on it in a rush before an event starts so there is a chance I might not even notice this issue at that moment but maybe an hour later.

One of the players mentioned this issue and it caught my attention since I also own a ring.
I am just not exactly sure when it comes to screenshots as proof, how exactly can I prove what the video can clearly do.

If you (somehow) happen to have a GTX 660 and over video card then Shadowplay would be perfect for incidents like that, it runs in the background and runs on your temp memory (or something like that idk how it works or what's it called) so if something like this occured you could just click one button and it would save what just happen in your hard drive, maybe that's what this guy was using or he was lucky enough to be recording while that happened D:

What I'm saying doesn't help the situation but.. yeah

I'm not 100% sure on what I'm about to say, BUT I will say that your ancient ring will probably never disappear, ever.

The ancient rings that "disappear" are the ones that are one-time use, they have a 15 second cool-down, and have a different item ID than the permanent ones.

For example: This Ring of Ancient Earth has a 15 second cool-down. If you were to use it in-game, it would probably disappear on the first use. However, THIS Ring of Ancient Earth says it has a 60 minute cool-down, which is the normal version.

As you can see in the video, the guy uses a Ring of Magic with a 15 second cool-down. The reason why it was like this is because he was given the wrong ring ID for whatever event he won. We can prevent any future "bugs" by just giving the rings that are between the item IDs of 164005001 - 164005005 and not 164005010 - 164005014.

Anyway.. I COULD be wrong.. I'm assuming most of what I said is true, though.

Edit: oh you just said he was given the wrong one by whoever sent it to him, nevermind

How could you tell what ID you were given since they look exactly the same? And can players scam this item unknowingly that they have the wrong ID?

It shouldn't be a problem. No one should have the wrong rings. If someone happens to obtain/trade one, then you could tell because the rings that disappear have a 15s cooldown while permanent have 60m cooldown. Keep this in mind incase a problem happens in the future.

So let's say someone had a normal ring but when he clicked on it, it disappeared without having any recorder on. Is there actually any way that Staff could check those logs to prove that he did not trade/mail or delete it when a SS is not enough proof ?

A SS is probably enough proof. The log will say "You used Ring of Ancient Magic" then you can open your inventory where your ROAM was when you used it. You can also do /time after it says you used the ROAM for more proof. But you have ROAW right?

Shadowplay lets you record the past 5? 10? minutes of gaming. Simple as that.

EDIT: To be exact. It RECORDS the past few minutes and lets you overview them later and re-format and upload if you like.

I wanted to give an explanation of how it does that D: I mentioned that it runs on "temporary memory" or whatever it's called cause that way it doesn't lower your fps.. I have it running always and it doesn't affect my fps, that's what I wanted to say >.< Try leaving fraps recording while you play on a (not that good) computer, it will lower your fps by a lot D:

The SS contained that the item was used as you can see, and the item was not found on the account either.

Actually, the SS was not enough since it was taken probably after a couple mins but I thought Staff members could check not only those two logs but also if the reporter happened to delete the item by any chance or not which could solve this concern pretty fast.

Frankly it gets me worried a bit because I could have provided a similar SS if it happened to me as this reporter did (only difference would have been that I would have pressed 'I' to show all my items altogether not just one cube). But I have heard the account was checked and the ring was not found there.
