1) Donators are needed, do you think that anyone without donations could pay for a server that can hold 2k players? Every pserver needs donators and I believe they and they only have a right to put pressure on server owners. They didnt have to pay, but still.

2) After like 4 moths watching GameZ, I have seen around 5 custom updates, rest was taken from AU and now from either aion-lightingforum(contributions which are not commited yet) or directly from AL source. For me it seems that apart from webpages Carl do nothing about server besides from compiling sources.

3) Only plus GameZ has is really large community, because rest of the servers are much better, with many more working features.

 

it may be issues with you connection, i honestly cant play without proxy for example, i get like 600ms 800ms, sometimes 1000ms+ without proxy, but when i use a proxy, everything goes very fine, like 220-280ms, its very playable, try using a proxy service, somtimes its because your internet route takes till reach the server, maybe you not from east/usa, if u from europe, southamerica, asia, or west usa, u may experience any extra lag when in pvp or city without proxy, it depends on your connection sometimes, even if u have a good connection like 20mbit or 30+ could lag if the routes are not good, as mine, if you can donate 300 bucks you can pay a proxy for 5 bucks/month.

And you have first hand knowledge of Pserver owners bank accounts to say that they NEED donations to pay for the server? who do you think paid for the server when it first started up? players? i dont think so some how.

Donations are a BONUS to running a P'server, You can get a decent P server host for less than $300 p/m so dont tell me they cost LOADS to run, if you cant spare $300 a month to set up a P server with 10TB of bandwidth then you need to get a better job. there is no reason why carl can not afford this server. without donations but then where would the fun be in that. Private server host costs <-- so you can check your self (note this is one page of many hosting sites out there, always best to shop around might even get the same cheaper)

Kind of annoying when people spout "its expensive to run a private server" crap with out a look at the proper costs involved, if you notice on that page hardware is the only thing that effects cost. pick what server closely matches games and see how much carl "could" be paying for GameZ

Just remember carl doesnt PAY anyone. he is a single man doing it on his own. and all donations go to him, as he has no staff to pay, the only out goings carl has to run this server are the monthly server costs that is it, so now work out how much he is earning from your donations.

Nothing carl has done him self i might add.

I separated this bit from your first paragraph as id like to emphasize something for you, when you donated you did it to get items. NOT for the well being of the server, you looked at the items shop and went "wow i really want that for my character, then i can use / sell (delete as appropriate) that item to further my characters progression"

You didn't go "ooh i know ill donate to improve the server" as there is nothing on this website anywhere that clearly states that donations go to upkeep of the server.

Admittedly they probably do now, but when the server first came online who do you think footed the bill? carl not players. before the item shop and donations went live, who footed the bill, carl and not players.

Why do you believe that just because you threw real cash at getting items / vote points that your above anyone else?

IF you honestly believe that your donation money goes to the upkeep of this server you must be delusional, it is clearly evident with how this server keeps crashing that; that is not the case.

open any .exe file of some program etc and look how many crap u must check whats wrong....thats just a demonstration its not that easy to find memory leak that crashes the server

See for yourself. Don't get me wrong, I understand why it is some people maintain hope for something they once enjoyed. But there has to be a point where you accept that certain things are true. One of those being: Carl doesn't care enough to learn java, hire a proper dev team, or host the server on it's own dedicated box. And despite what ANYONE will tell you, Aion needs it's own dedicated box. Even with our optimized code, I still would never run Aion on less than 8Gb of ram dedicated JUST to Aion (meaning the server should have a minimum of 16gb). But then, my numbers are adjusted for 2500+ players since that's what I work with.

Hint: Nothing is being worked on. Not here, and not at AL.

Not when the lag is due to memory leaks. That's not expected nor should it be tolerated. General network lag is common whether you're private or retail though.

No, who is "they" that you're talking about? There's no inhouse dev team. There's no one at AL working on it. Hell, even the Zetta guys aren't touching on these issues. So who is this magical "they"?
