hi guys, i'm Shway on the siel server and i've just recently started playing aion.
i've noticed the lack of "newbie guides" on the forums, and because of this, i don't know what to do after creating my character. i've been running around (getting lost, mostly) trying to do some quest or another, but i'm randomly picking them and honestly not getting much done ingame.
what's the most efficient way to level up/gear up? which quests/campaigns should i be doing and which ones should i ignore?
    thanks in advance!

Hi there, there is multiple ways to acquire PvE/PvP Gear fast, you can do IS (Infinity Shard) this will apply you with 200,000 AP,20 Ceraniums,2 Tempering Solutions which can also count towards buying Custodian/Shepards/Ambassador/Emissionary (PvP Sets) whilst running IS you get a box you loot from Hyperion (Boss) that randomly acquires an item after opening the box. As for enchantment stones/manastones you can go into mixfight I recommend creating a sin just to go inside and collect boxes. As for godstones just make them or constantly kill Elyos/Asmodians depending on which race you play and do the questline towards officer kills and general kills. As for lvling up you can start with the first katalam campaign and work your way through.. you will level very fast after all this is a private server so GL and have a nice day ;)

Level 60 is able to enter IS and no it's not soloable it requires 12 amount of players which is half an alliance and it will be quite hard for you to hit the mobs considering it's a high end lvl 65 instance and you won't get much EXP out of it as a first time user and level 60 I recommend not using "Templar/Cleric" because they want you to be lvl 65, but if you hit "J" hotkey and go to campaign and scroll down to Katalam you should tick the box and start with that first quest, will be alot easier to lvl.

Infinity Shard is a 12 player alliance instance and requires at least 12 players to enter. It can be easy if the group knows what to do but it can't be solo'd.

You need 1-2 ranged damagers for the IDE Resonator (a lightblue crystal that buffs the boss Hyperion.) to kill it everytime it spawns. Failing to do this will result in Hyperion receiving one of four power buffs and once the fourth one has been added to him, he disappears and the run failed.
Then your group should have two clerics to ensure a decent life support or instead a Songweaver in group 2.
Though there's no level limit to enter, I suggest not entering before level 65 because of the skills you get then.

I have had some good runs with a level 60 player in the alliance but it shouldn't be too many at once.
Also, IS can be enteres through a portal which pops up in Sanctum and Pandaemonium, I just don't know the interval within which it pops up.

I've noticed that too, it just happens that there aren't many aion newbies, if there are new comers to gamez then they will be coming from some other aion server.
Aion has a lot to offer for fun, you have to ask yourself what you think is fun. By finding that out then you'll find what you can do in-game.
Also there are several things you can find inside and outside this forums but most of them are slightly outdated. Gamez has many custom features, that's probably what you should find out. You should also read a bit of Aion Lore.
