[Guide] Lower ping with Battleping.

Hello,
Recently on LFG chat i talked about Battleping and many people PM'd me how to get it and how to set it up properly.

If you haven't use anything to lower your ping before, try this thread before using Battleping (http://forum.gameznetwork.com/showthread.php?t=6384) if it didn't work for you, proceed to further.

Maybe you are using battleping too but with wrong setup,
Hope this guide will help you through to a smoother gameplay.

We all know that ping really matters for most of the classes and sometimes it returns back as an disadvantage if our ping is low.

You may question if this is safe but I have been using it for almost 2 months and I haven't got any harm yet.

So here are the steps.

I. Getting and installing Battleping

a. Visit http://battleping.com/setup.php
b. At the web page, click to the shown link

c. Let the download finish.
d. Install Battleping
e. Restart your PC.

II. Using Battleping

After you have installed and restarted your PC follow these steps.

a. You are going to use one of following servers for battleping because these servers are located around USA just like our Gamez server, this is how it will help us get a lower ping


b. Select a server and hit "Ping" button.


c. If your ping is below 300 when you hit Ping button it will give you a smoother outcome but remember Low ping = Good, High ping = Bad

d. After you chose which server you will use hit to "Connect" button


e. If you are connecting to that server first time it will ask you if you want to restore the key in a pop up window

Type "y" without quotes and hit enter key.

f. If you succesfully connect it will show this window


g. When you are connected DO NOT close Battleping or plink(black window), minimize them and proceed to next step.

III. Testing your ingame ping
a. Now that you have your battleping connected and you minimized both battleping and the black window start Aion and connect.

b. When you are in game type /ping to see your ping.

c. Remember high ping = bad


d. Follow below steps if your ping is above 300-400

IV. IF YOUR PING IS STILL HIGH

a. If your ping is still high go back to Battleping and select another server other then the 3 servers i suggested you, if none of them works you may try other aswell.


b. Restore the key if it asks you to and minimize windows and start aion again.

c. Type /ping in Aion again and see your ping. If your ping is still high repeat step IV.

* This method is not guaranteed to work for everybody. This is just suggested method if Leatrix Latency fix doesn't work.

Wow nice guide, I personally don't need it but I know it's useful to those who do need it ^^

 

For mostly european players its most needed. THe host of the server dont quite helps us, but we can manage.:wink:

lucky you.i wouldn't mind if there was another program to lower ping besides laetrix and BP.my ping is still not good with both

i don't know which one is better but i use them both.with only one my ping is not good at all

 

I use both, i could squish for few ms using BP but not much diference.

 

I'm using both too.

Im using this program and work perfect 60ms and 100ms (in mass pvp 150 , 200, ) ! love it

 

Just to mention:

It's doesn't work always because during peak hours servers are laggy (at different time of day/night for each continent of course)

This guide is just great and well written as well. Easy to understand what to do and how to do it.

It's just that there was already guide about the same thing...

this BattlePing never worked for me i think is useless lol xD

 

WTF! 21k ms! I still lag at 500ms.. whew.

 

Same here. Didn't see any improvement between using and not using battleping.
