    type regedit in Run or search.

    hkey local_machine

    >software

    >>ncwest

    >>>aion (change base directory to your desired drive)

    Bro i followed your method but i think it deleted my old client it reduce to 5GIG (my old client pasting it to Aion folder) and the only one increasing it the $patch$ file.. so i just let it be and wait for it to finish (downloaded the whole client) then after it i did not press the install yet i repair it and repairing i think it proceeded to update..

    now my problem is i don't have enough space for it on my HDD the $patch$ is 32gb right? and files outside of that $$ file is increasing (installing i guess)


    Now because i don't have enough space for it is it possible to transfer it on a different Drive and continue there? i only have less than 2gb.. :(

    Zzzz I dunno bro. This guide seems feasible, but I did mine far ..... less... flashy lol.

    See you had your Aion locate at D:\Games\NCSOFT\Aion.

    1. What I simply did was rename that Aion folder to Aion_2, so your real game files will be in D:\Games\NCSOFT\Aion_2. Then install the launcher. Where it asks, where you want to install the Aion Game, I chose the same location D:\Games\NCSOFT\Aion. If you have to create the folder "Aion" in that directory, do so, this will mock the directory where your game was located so that it will start the download there.
    2. After the launcher installation is complete, I started the UPDATE and then stopped it. Being that it will start to download the whole game. Then go to the directory , D:\Games\NCSOFT\Aion and delete the "Aion" Folder and change the name of the folder you renamed earlier that has your game files in it from Aion_2 to Aion.
    3. Restart the NCsoft Launcher and click update. This will then recognize your game files and ONLY update your game to the latest patch/version.

    Hope this helps you and future players who wish to just ONLY update their client not install it fresh or lose it all together :p

    donE update!... but when i try to run gamezlauncher it said my aion is not yet updated... so i run aion instaler again it update stage 1 to 9 AGAInNNNN,,,,, T_T is it good or bad?

    So i followed these steps and successfully repaired my files, then it proceeded to update blah blah blah.
    But when the updating was done, i clicked install. It installed, then automatically begun downloading 6GB worth of repair files again, at a blindingly slow pace.
    Is this normal? I thought i repaired everything before i even started.
    Is aion installed now and can i just play or should i let it continue this strange second repair job? It seems like itll take days.
    I'm very eager to play!

    Hint: If your AION Client was installed on its default location, it will be easy as a click to update it. However, if you modified the location of your AION installation folder (I mean, on a different local disk drive, partition or folder name) this guide will much help you guys.

    Note: To start the UPDATE PROCESS , you'll need to uninstall your previous AION and NCSOFT Game Launcherprogram. (Make sure to MOVE or COPY your existing AION Client Folder on a different File Folder/File Location before uninstalling AION Client & NCSoft).

    You have missed something OFC!

    Since we are talking about updating via NCSoft GameLauncher, your Aion client should be updated on NCSoft's recent version.

    Kindly make sure that you have the Administrative power to change such settings within your computer.

    This was old as me. But yeah. TY anyways. This process can be used to any Launcher-Based online games.

    BTW guys, @Lautaro made a guide on updating your 4.8 Aion client to 5.0 via torrent (http://forum.gameznetwork.com/threads/official-torrent-client-5-0-2-9.199439/page-2#post-2002820). It is much more stable since downloading via torrent is much more optimistic. Just that, we need peers for seeding.
