    So if the sun sets at half 5 pm as it did today in here due to the winter timing, do you consider 5 o'clock as night..

    If you didn't have a clock nearby you'd say it was night too :p I keep it simple. Dark = friend/night

    For the record "evening" in my dictionary is just a marker for the period between 6:30 and 10 PM, i.e. it depends on clock time, whereas night and day I differentiate according to light outside.

    Yes, because it offers concreteness as to what time you're referring to. If you're asking what it is, not what time it is, the intuitive answer would be that it is night.

    No no no you idiots. Night begins at 12 noon. Morning begins at 7:00 PM Evening is 5:00 AM Prevening is 4:00 AM(its very short) and Afternoon begins at midnight
