Hello everyone , the point of this thread is that..i see everyday i'm playing , new players , that are asking for help, like they have alot of questions about where to farm...from where to get gears..etc..and also they are asking to party them for events , or for pvp.
Yeah..so even I , i am new ..not so new ,just made a long break ...and when i came back everything changed..i had alot of questions too..but..at least Zikel helped me a lil' bit..a lil'bit more....and you know not everybody can afford to donate..so at least if everyone new in-game is asking you about something like gears or places to farm..(not mentoring , or to give gears) please..do not be mean..tell them where to farm..party them also in pvp or events , even if they don't have good gears , because they must have a chance to explore this game , cuz this is why they are playing..isn't? Do not be mean..because the LIFE if mean enough! If we don't give them answers...they gonna leave..and we want this gamez aion community to grow up isn't? especially Asmo's. ^^

Well..thank you in advance..and don't get mad on me.I have a good soul.:) I would help them all if i can, but i'm also still learning.

I find myself also, like almost everyone else, getting questions and concerns dished at me almost everyday or every moment I am at the entry point to either Sanctum or Pandaemonium. Although sometimes the questions may vary, I find that the difference between beggars , hoarders and actual legitimate new-comers are easily distinctive. A player may ask for Blood Marks or Ceramium Medals, if I have extra I will give, but if I see that a person is already on their way, wearing some, if not most of the gear for the item they're asking for, I give them a run down of how to acquire more, so they can fend for themselves instead of begging. I also tend to shy away from people who are not even 65 yet, do not ask for mentor or how to level up, but be asking for CMs straight up or even more so just straight up gears (Name included lol) which makes me ponder for a moment about the legitimacy of this beg.

However being helpful is always rewarding in some sense, but people tend to want to abuse your kindness which in my books is bad. I have helped a lot of people, and by help, I mean educate, not give items to. People who ask questions are those who really want to learn, people who just want things, usually raise red flags for me, because when I say no, they're rude.

But you are right, we need to help each one as they come to this community so it can go, by sharing our knowledge about the game, its mechanics as well as the server itself. Always remember to direct them to the forums, the guides here are awesome ;)

    Lol!

On another note, I am almost sure that your legion should teach you the instances and/or run them often. @Keashfufu knows all too well the task he faces with such a massive legion at his disposal :p

Ye well this thread is not about beggers , is for the "newbies" like me.. i just wanna play fair..im gonna farm..im gonna get gear...just wanna know how..and i will do it..and it will take time , but that's it..this is the point of a game , to get uber step by step..untill u're done.

I think you have one of the most positive attitudes that I have actually ever seen.

Do hope you are having as much fun as possible. Make sure you check out our event section here on the forums and even some of the in-game ones as well. May not end up being top 3 or winning, but most of the time we do have rewards for everyone in some form (event depending forum ones do tend to lack the participation / consolation prizes).

Either way. If you have any questions about the game, how to do something, or what to do. Even though the guides we have are really good as @Luff said? Feel free to ask one of the staff members if something isn't known by your legion pals, or friends in game and or if no one has a decent answer for you. In-Game or here on the forums just drop us a whisper ( .gmlist to see who is online) and as for forums. We're typically visible on the side bar. Just click a name hit 'Start Conversation' and continue from there.

Would be amazing if everyone shared your out-look of helping each other though.

Problem is that newbies arent on forum and do not look for guides . If they do , they shouldn´t have any problem I think guides here are pretty and simply explained. Ofc I dont mind to help anyone, its a part of game I enjoy close to mostly . But when I gonna try new game ( and I am saying this from my experience) and I finally choose a server I every singe time going on forum before I enter the game ... if on forum I dont find anything then I ask players for help :)

i also experienced this in RvR event they were so mean to me just because i have no proper gear and i just came back what would they expect full ea? I was so mad at that time. Good thing that i have my old friends to help me like @Narunaa special mention cause he help me a lot. Helping is not all about giving but also guiding the player to be a better player. I read almost all the guides here and it was well explained and it help me a lot.

well uhm, some newbies(including me) have this minimum pc requirement, it's easy to search google or go to forums but because of their pc specs they can't do it(or they wont), so they are stuck in game and their way of learning things is by asking players which not possible all the time.

You give someone a finger and then they end up hacking your account :)

When I play a new game I always try to join the top legions / guilds because the players there will most likely have everything they needs so they will help you just to kill some time.

They added multiple sets to the game which are actually better than the donator gear and instead of asking how to get it the only pms I get are bms please cms please and 1b kinah please which are often followed by a "fvck you fvck your mom" when I say no...

As for leveling is actually faster by doing quests than having a high level sit in Enshar grinding levels for your lazy ass for hours.
There are some really good guides on how to power level to 65 in under an hour for non vips and 10mins for vips on the guides section of this forum so why should high levels spend hours grinding for you when you can easily do it yourself faster?

Perhaps it's not so much how the "uber" players treat new players as how new players treat the "ubers" expecting to be given everything and abusing us when we have nothing to give.
I agree I want more players to join the server but I want quality players to join not people who are lazy too work for their own equipment.

Respect is a two way street and pming some one who doesn't know you out of the blue asking for stuff isn't how you get it. Ask us how to gear up and become self sufficient and we will happily guide you. Ask for items and abuse us and we will throw that abuse right back at you.

Your tone is perhaps a little too caustic, but your idea is sound. Though I think I will add my two cents to this conversation. Or rather, a story. Stay a while, and listen.

Having recently re-joined this server, my experience was an interesting one. After creating my character, I walked into Pandaemonium and found quite a few players. There were already multiple beggars around, spouting off broken english. "sir mentor pls", "pls give cm", and enough Trade spam in LFG to make a populated World of Warcraft private server sick. The environment was cold, and any requests and questions I had were met with more broken english, being ignored, or outright belittled. And the number of duel requests, holy hell. I was fresh out of the gate and at least half a dozen people ran up to me, prompting a duel and responding "try" over and over when I denied them. After quickly turning off Duel Requests, I spent the next few days acclimating to the new Stigma systems, the new combos, and the general difficulty of leveling without a guide to hold my hand or a Mentor to tutor me. After three days of leveling up and taking my time, I walk back into Pandamonium, expecting to be able to contribute to any event, no matter how small or big.

I could not have been more wrong.

I walked into a Training 1v1 event, thinking "Maybe I can go in here, chat with someone, and test out my skills. Obviously only inexperienced people go here, so I should be able to have some fun!"
I was killed in two hits by my opponent.
I respawned. I was brutally killed.
I spawned again. I died. Again.
I spawn once more, desperately typing into Say chat "Can you help me?" and entered it when I stood up, hoping to get something out. Hoping that the little AP I had acquired while questing wouldn't get drained dry by repeated one-sided beatings. Maybe I can get something out of this.
"You cannot do that in FFA."

I logged out of the game at that very moment. Why would a training event have a player like that in it? How is it training if you get penalized for losing to someone grossly outgearing you? So, I went to the website in desperation and found these forums. I looked and looked for some advice or some guides. "Where to turn in X item". No, I don't even have those. Hell, I don't even know how to get them. "Where to buy X item." No currency still. Then more spam posts, no guides for my class at the time, nothing. So I turned to the first person I saw that looked helpful.

That person was Dimitra. I asked her a long slew of questions, none of which were addressed here in any guide. And, much to my despair, I heard the exact thing I didn't want to: you pretty much need the help of other players to achieve anything. So I joined a Legion. It was full of people speaking another language. So I left and joined another. The same thing happened. Then another. Finding someone who fluently spoke English in my typical playing hours was like finding a Mossy Anima in the current version: Impossible.

It doesn't end there. Finding out that Infinity Shard was my only option to get any PvP currency, I joined up on the first Alliance I found. As we waited, I found the guide for it here on the forums. While it was only partly accurate, I did the best I could with what I knew. Unfortunately, I was a Gunslinger with the starting gear. I could hardly affect the Ide Resonators, and I was the only one assigned to the task. After failing to stop them, I was kicked from the Alliance, sworn at by multiple players (broken english, yet again) and left feeling absolutely atrocious. I was heavily tempted to leave the server then and there. But, I stayed. I made a new character, a Cleric. I've played as a healer in multiple MMOs in the past, and if everyone is as overgeared as they look, then I might be able to handle this.

And I finally did. After barely healing enough to keep the tank alive with my complete attention, suffering constant abuse that I wasn't healing the rest Alliance enough, hearing Songweavers refuse to toss even the occasional heal, and a particular Gladiator that doesn't understand what a boss's Cleave is, I finally got my first 200 Blood Marks. I did a few more runs and got my Gunslinger some pistols. They weren't enough to get me through Ide duty, but they let me DPS and only get resist about a tenth of the time instead of half. With this method, I have clawed my way from the pitiful existence that is a new, unestablished character up to one that still loses every PvP duel, but only in seven hits instead of two.

This is what it is like to be a new, English-speaking, American player on this server. At least, at this point and time.
    • An uncaring enviroment, filled with caustic and abusive players. A playerbase so focused on their own personal progression that new blood dries up on the pavement, until they've reached the point bordering perfection.
    • Insufficient documentation on various mechanics regarding progression.
    • An intense focus on end-game PvP, causing parts of the game to have withered in lieu of keeping the upper echelon entertained.
    • Incredible amounts of stacking against new players. Orange named level 60 PvP gear to start with? You're cannon fodder, nothing more.
At the very start, the server fails at the most basic level. If a player needs the charity of others to begin play, something must be changed to allow them to access it. I this particular case, I will include Infinity Shard, since it requires a dozen people to even enter, and likely that many to complete.

Now, as a player that has exited that hell into an unpleasant, but manageable niche, with orange 65 Blood Mark Armor, Helm, and Yellow 65 BM Accesories...
    • The playerbase is still generally about the self. Mixfight is a slaughtering grounds, with higher geared players as the butchers. It attempts to be a place to gather upgrading materials, but barely works as such. 1v1s will end with the highly geared player as the victor. Only small-ish differences will ever see otherwise, causing a "Rich get richer, poor get poorer" conundrum. Sieges only reward players who can get kill credit, which will not happen with such a divide in gear.
    • I found out most of my information from GMs, since most players either could not understand me, did not care, or did not know. Animas not dropping outside of Idian Depths was a fact I learned after a week of fruitlessly farming for them. The forums did not have anything about this fact that I could find after multiple searches.
    • Parts of the game are still withered and just don't make sense. Crusader Token quests are broken and nothing else has been added to allow them to be earned? Basic Idians can't be bought from General Goods Merchants? Abyss Artifacts can't be sold to supplement a new player's AP?
    • The stacking is still an issue, but after having a few more chips on my side of the scale, I've discovered that instead of being cannon fodder, I'm now a slightly more threatening slab of meat with an offensive odor.
I feel that most of these issues can be changed. How much it's changed isn't up to me. I can give suggestions all day and night, but this isn't my server to run. I don't have eyes on some sort of design plan that the owners are using. I dont know what's coming up. For all I know, the server can suddenly update start new characters with a full set of Orange Blood Mark equipment for the class within the next hour. But what I can say: Being a new player on this server sucks if you want to have your achievements be your own. After all, why play a game if someone gives you a head start over others?
