    Hi.. im Maxi...
The last time i posted a help thread like this was when I was looking for a good gaming mouse.
now, I am again in need of your help and advises on some techie stuff.. this time.. about Gaming Laptops.

I know desktops, i built my own pc and i know those stuff, but as for laptops.. i know nothing. never been a laptop gamer and since my future situation may require me a gaming laptop, for i will be away from my desktop for some time and will be moving from places to places in a long periods of time.

So, here we go. ive been browsing through google, bestbuy, amazon etc.... reading reviews, checking specs, comments, etc about the laptops that i was interested in, but the question still lies, are they really good enough? I know I may tend to compare them with my desktop which makes me feel its not worth it (price, and specs all together).

Laptops that stands out for me for now are these laptop:
    1.) https://www.amazon.com/GL552VW-DH71...qid=1468128623&sr=1-19&keywords=gaming+laptop

    2.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015ZG9964/ref=twister_B017LMGAQ2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

i like #2 better for its screen size at 17" but tell me... advise me...

    - All i see here is a good laptop for its price, but im not confident that it is. If you have some advise on what other laptops are there that is maybe close or even better than this and is cheaper (or abit more expensive but worth it) please let me know.

Budget: (500~1500) but i can squeeze $2000 if need be (may need to ask the Wife) lmao!

PS: I did check some alienware, but unsure if its worth it. but im open to ideas , advises. any kind. that can help me out.
    Thanks.

There are some better ASUS that are 17inch as well, I have one for example, it's pretty awesome but it's bulky and I couldn't fit it in a normal laptop bag haha

how thick is it? i don't mind carrying it really. i dont literally carry it around with me. it will most likely spend most of its time on the car seat or plane desk while traveling

What games will you be running in the laptop? I think you should set the base specs that you want your laptop to have, and from there move on to looking for the laptops that are within the specs you want.

I personally don't like gaming laptops, they are very bulky and heavy. My current laptop is from the ASUS N Series (N752VX), and even tho it's not directly a gaming laptop it does come with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M graphics card, so it can actually run a lot of games pretty well... plus it's small enough that you don't get tired of taking it with you everywhere.

yea, that's basically what i am doing. and been studying, reading reviews, and performance of the laptops that ive researched. those gaming laptops that costs about 1600$ are too costly (just because they have the newer specs in it., where as an 1000$ gaming laptop can still perform the same programs and games that those 1600$ do. problem is, i want to know which laptop is better. go Asus, Msi, alienware, Acer, Dell or HP or whatever.

it seems tho that people with a lower budget to buy those ALienwares chooses Asus or Msi...

IMO Alienware is just for the looks. I've been using ASUS laptops for the last 4 years and I really like them, the build quality is very good, specially with the N Series (aluminium body).
