installing aion...

just a simple question..

i want to install aion in my PC..the problem is it would take me for about days before i can fully installed aion..bcoz the specs of my PC is just enough to support aion..

now, my question is..can i install it bit by bit?? like 20% each day?? so that i can continue the installation the next morning until its fully installed.. bcoz it is really slow.. can i actually do that? or no??

i know that if u close the installer and u turn it on after 2-3 hours ... its works and it install from the % that u left..but i do this only with the PC on..i dont know if it works when u close the PC..GL^

 

yes u can...it took me 4 days with my laptop to install it xD

note on using NCSoft Luancher..
Run As Admin and turn off automatic Updates.

when it successfully reaches 1.9.0.1 version.. pause the download (you must turn off automatic updates on your NCSoft Launcher)

I think torrent is a bit slower, try downloading it from the official site w/ the use of ncsoft bcoz its much faster and good thing of downloading it, try not to open other application so the net connection will not affect....

 

if ur using a torrent, it continues at any point u like so yeah u can turn off ur pc whenever and resume later ^^ thats for the download part, the installation shouldnt take so long. btw dont use ncsoft coz now that 2.0 came out, it wont work coz this server doesnt support it. download the 1.9.0.1 from gamershell (either as direct download or for u preferably the torrent)

dont use ncsoft anymore, its not supported and ull be forced to download the older 1 anyways. btw even if torrent is a little slower, its still better coz as she said, she needs download resuming. a lot of direct downloads (like the gamershell ones) break after u pause it and u cant resume. would go to waste

 

wew...i can't let my PC be on for 24/7....ive tried NCsoft launcher and with my PC spec it would take me forever.....hahaha

 

torrent tends to eat most of your bandwidth
if you have less than 3mb/s of net speed.. using torrent would mean .. youll have longer loading time during browsing the net.

while in NCSoft.. you wont get as much bandwidth lag compared to torrent.

just a little fyi.

 

the ncsoft will not update from 1.9.0.1 to 2.0 if you turn off the automatic update at the settings.... and about pausing or resuming the download, you can run also the ncsoft on the background.... so no problem of turning off the pc...

using torrent would mean .. days and days of downloads.. but at least your sure it finishes.
but i dont want to spoil it. but its not always 100% sure that the file u downloaded is 100% working. coz i got tons and tons of experiences downloading massive files in torrent and it tends to be corrupted sometimes.

so id suggest using NCSoft launcher. it repairs any damage files at the same time. meaning saves alot more time... it may be days till you complete it but when that day comes. you can always have a backup of it on a portable HD.

PS: when it needs repairs.. NCSoft launchers fixes it.
people may say its slow and etc... but the truth is.. when their client has problems.. they turn to mr. NCSoft launcher to help them out. trust me on that.

err. i installed aion on a friends pc like...yesterday? had auto update off, but they already changed the files on the download server, u dont update, u get 2.0 directly. AKA why the gamez aion main page tells u to download it through gamershell as a 1.9.0.2 zip/torrent and not using ncsoft launcher. better a little slower speed than download the wrong version and have to download the other anyways

 

well before i even started downloading the whole client at ncsoft launcher. i already turned the autoupdates off. maybe on that time, i was just fortunate that the ncsoft launcher provided 1.9v update. but i think they still do. well you can try to search for bit and bit file updates on gamershell for aion version. or use the search button here that the GMs used to provide the players to update to 1.9.

 

err i dont think u can go from 2.0 down to 1.9 (btw it wouldnt be upgrade but downgrade) xD but yeah cant do that

 

let me check on that downgrade. i think i heard my friends were able to do that. will let you guys know

 

thx, would really help coz yeah ncsoft launcher can be a b!tch since no private server as of now supports 2.0 and it just causes issues. my friends r already redownloading the old 1.9 from gamershell lol, slow but at least itll work.

 

if you are using windows 7 you can downgrade it to 1.9.0.1 again.... but if you were using other OS, then try to download in the gameshell.... but i have one idea to share, if you have any devices that can store big files... just try copying it to that device and transfer it to you pc....

 

if u have a 16GB flash drive or a external HD.. ^^
