Any ideas why I constantly get send logs and 'you have been disconnected from the server' when using this command?

It's a bit irritating, especially in PvP!

Are you in a legion? Because as far as I am aware if you are not, then pressing G (the shortcut for guild menu) crashes your game. Do you crash every single time? Or randomly?

For the sake of argument, if you are not in a legion, make/join one and see if it keeps happening. I have my suspicion that the g in .gear might be the issue. You can also try bind the G shortcut to a different key (not g,e,a,r) and see if it stops.

    1) I am in legion
    2) It doesn't happen every time, but pretty often
    3) I am typing out .gear load or whatever and when I press enter I get the crash

Issue with G-key has been fixed, it shouldn't crash anymore.

Do you use macros for this? If not - try it.
When I used this command without a macro, it happened for me few times too, but then I created one see to if it will happen again, but it didn't.
Probably too fast change can cause disconnection.

Already tried and yep it happens with and without macros, in game and keyboard.

I would recommend experimenting to find the actual cause. For example:
    1. Try saving just 1 item and see if it works. If it does, keep adding items to the set until you see it crash. This way you can check if it is the number of items or a specific item causing it.
    2. Try it while you are standing completely still vs when you are in the middle of something.
    3. Check if you have enough free inventory space for gear to be changed around in case it was to fully unequip everything you have on you.
You know, situational testing to see when it happens.

I have been but no definitive findings as yet, that's why I asked :D Wondered if it was a known issue.

    So far:
It seems to happen more often when I'm doing something and even though it does happen when I'm not doing anything, kinda makes me think it's a 'too many things happening at once' issue like Kizumii says.
I have also played with the delays in the keyboard/macro settings and not come to any conclusions.

I'll mess around with numbers of items next time I'm bored and see what happens, and maybe again with 'doing stuff'. I do have to be in the right mood though, having to keep logging in all the time gets old :D
