Launcher stopped working

BDO Launcher issues

After update to 2.15 launcher failed with following error , upto 2.14 no issues.



Any help appreciated.

Go to your BDO folder, right click it and select, 'Properties'. Untick 'Read-Only' (meaning you leave the box empty), apply it to all subfolders then press 'OK'. Run your launcher as an administrator. Perhaps it fixes the issue.

 

Thanks , i unticked as you said , no luck .

copied v 1.15 files to different directory , got it to launch , now when it updates it gives me above error



bit more on the error , am i missing any dependency files ?.

 

You can't launch the game with v1.15 launcher, try downloading the launcher again. There was an update to fix the problem, it should be working now.

 

Thanks Noyah, my launcher worked fine until previous launcher version( was online before the maintenance).

After update to latest version have got this problem.

i have downloaded the latest launcher from website
- the launcher starts at v 1.15
- updates to latest version

and gives this error after update



And when i launch the launcher it crashes with stopped working error.

Can you confirm if the new launcher has any file dependencies ( i.e dll needed, visual c++ , . net framework etc) , or if there are registry key i need to remove for clean uninstall or update after install
or if there is any other way around it .

Needs the latest net framework, make sure you've updated to the latest version.

If you uninstall gamezbd launcher, and download the launcher you should start at version 2.1 on the client and should be able to get everything working again.

EDIT: When is the last time you updated windows and are you on Win7, Win8, or Win10?

Problem after the updates, removed the check mark from the folder black desert "read-only", provided an administrator, but this error is issued. Help, please!

I am on window 7 , my launcher update to 2.15 , during maintenance window got corrupted ,subsequent update wouldn't work , as 1st update was bugged , as I didn't know how to cleanly uninstall launcher ( i.e thru registry / file delete) , my only option was to re install windows , which i did and its working fine now .
