5.3 Weapon & Armour Race & Class restrictions

    Dear Admin @Carl @Puddles @lisveth
    I would like to suggest if there’s a possibility to remove the class & Race restriction of the gears & new weapons

    Prime Swords, mace, staff, shield, Tome, Orb,Bow etc..
    For example currently we have 3 types of Prime swords in web shop


    Prime Guardian Royal Captain Sword (Templar)

    Prime Guardian Royal Captain Long Sword (Gladiator)

    Prime Guardian Royal Captain One-handed Sword (assassin)

    Armour
    Prime Guardian Royal Captain Tunic (Cloth) I hope can be used by all cloth types’ class (Suppose can be use by Elyos or asmo)

    Prime Guardian Royal Captain Jerkin (Leather) I hope can be used by all Leather types’ class (Suppose can be use by Elyos or asmo)

    Prime Guardian Royal Captain Hauberk (Chain) I hope can be used by all Chain types’ class (Suppose can be use by Elyos or asmo)

    Prime Guardian Royal Captain Breastplate (Plate) I hope can be used by all Plate types’ class (Suppose can be use by Elyos or asmo)

    Would you please check if there’s a chance to remove the class & Race restriction of the said above weapons,Armour. if the class & Race restriction is remove that is better because you can use the sword from gladi to assassin to Templar, Like BL weapons the swords can be used to assassin, Templar, gladi there’s no class Race & restrictions and I hope it will be apply also to the Prime weapons / amours please kindly remove the restrictions.

    this is the ugliest part of this new weapons...and u guys didn't observe? EA weapons got Paralysis and Silence resistance penetration +25 & Godstone Activation Suppression +0.2% while this prime weapon that is new got only +23 +24 Paralysis and Silence resistance penetration and 0.1% Godstone Activation Suppression????

    that is good for the players whos playing both race, and for the weapon yes i agree it should be no restrictions based on class all players will be beneficial to the weapons who has it. however lets the admin decide if they can do it.

    since we got BD here aion is forgotten, we get more update about BD than aion, seems that game brings more money and like always money matters here nothing else

    I've seen that on some thread this has already been discussed (i forgot which thread). The modification is actually possible afaik but will take ages to be implemented for sure and by that time there would be a new set of gears.

    That's frankly just an excuse to not implement the change you are requesting.
    Everything that needs to be done is a simple serverside modification (item_templates.xml) associated to a client side modification (items.pak) in order to remove the class restrictions from the aforementioned items.

    As for the serverside modification, you can see the code for a class restricted item below (i'm using a random item with class restriction as example, but the same applies to the specific items you mentioned above):

    What needs to be modified is the restrict="0,0,65,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0" parameter to restrict="65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65,65" ;
    This allows the item to be equipped by any class, and not only by the templar class, as seen in the original code.
    Afterwards, a similar modification has to be done to the items.pak file in the client, in order to remove the clientside restriction.

    The whole process takes around 10-20 minutes and would be implemented on the next server restart, without the need of any update.
    So, in fact, the reason why such changes are not implemented are merely economical in nature (more $$ in ya pockets, you greedy tarts), as they do not require any particular coding skill.

    We had a discussion about this some time ago. I also mentioned if they make the change server side, I can adjust the items.pak accordingly. I PMed Puddles over a month ago whether there is a plan to remove race/class restrictions as I also agree that it is currently way too expensive when locked down to this extent. The response was "Probably not for race restrictions", suggesting the class one might actually be removed. Either way, it is speculation, doesn't sound like they have given it much thought at the time.

    Yes, it's quite absurd, considering that there are no major differences between the various versions of an item; or at least, not enough differences to justify spending another 30-40k credits just to be able to play both Songweaver and Sorcerer without having to purchase vip (another 1500 credits) to trade your items. But well, this is Gamez, absurdity is at home here. It never fails to amuse me.

    While you at it can you guide our server developers on how to add 5.3 shield for chanters if they don't want to remove restrictions ;))
