EU server

Any chance for an EU server? The game's getting pretty popular and I'd like to support this version since I'm tired of retail where I've put thousands of hours just to get smacked in the face by RNG, but it's too laggy for me atm. (Eastern europe)

 

You would need an entirely new master server in the EU region. It sounds not only expensive but also resource intensive. Currently the team is better of getting everything to work on the current server before thinking about additional features.

I like the idea, doesn't seem to be reasonable though.

 

Don't worry OP, we've been laggy since Saturday. They increased the capacity of each channels but if they take about a week to do a server reset, it gets really laggy on the 3rd day since the last maintenance.

 

I think good proxy tutorial might work here well

A proxy solves literally nothing in regards to ping.

Do not invest time into getting proxies. These will increase your ping to the server.

You wouldn't need a new game server, you would just need to add channels/servers.

In many games, it's possible to pull a user to another server based in another location thanks to the way the game handles Server Switching. It's essentially pointing a user via IP connect to another box with the game on it, and linking it between the other game server. Because of this, putting a new server, say Valencia-1, onto an EU box, it creates the ability to have multiple servers on the one game.

The problem? Maintenance. The workload required to do it is so much more compared to normal, that it's almost always avoided. People/PServer groups tend to stay with one host because they are less likely to cop a DMCA takedown since those companies like the fact you pay them top $$$. Then, if you work with overseas companies, you run the risk of your source leaking, and if needing instant support, they could be offline due to timezone restrictions. It's a big job.

 

I posted a VPN guide. But it’s not free. I play from Japan so I know how you feel. However the vpn makes it better depending on where you connect.
