Too good to be true? :O

Is this what I think it is? I quit after being roughly softcapped on BDO live server, and just couldn't continue spending hundreds or thousands of hours in an ultimately endless grind for little to no reward...I don't know why I never thought about playing a private server, but I played Aion private server on !Aion and remembered I had heard about a BDO private server before...So I can get back to softcapped easily here!?!! And play for fun! And enjoy the beauty that BDO is without destroying my soul! Is it real? :O

 

Hey man. People tend to hit full boss gear + weapons PEN in about 2-4 weeks on average. Getting soft cap is no problem. I would advise you spend a bit of money for the Premium. It's pretty cheap. $5 = 2500 credits, where 1750 cred = 1 week premium. It's cheaper if you buy longer duration but I personally like 1 week as the enhancement rate is higher for premium members. When the premium runs out, I build a ton of +10 failstacks on a weekly basis.

 

If you have time to school a new player a bit it'd be appreciated :3 I'm "darby" in game, and yeah it's not quite as "easy mode" as I thought, being naked new player still sucks ass really. If you have time it'd be appreciated.

 

I'm also starting up. Didn't have the time or motivation to catch up on live. Every time i look donations and premium are unavailable..any idea when they'll be back?

 

Usually when a person gets the message that they are unavailable, they simply do not have a character yet. Try again after logging in with one.

 

First of all I am naive enough to read the Original Post as it is written, full of positive thinking about our server and I am grateful that more people feel as I do; that this is a truly awesome server project!
However I still find it strange; that 4 weeks full gear mentality, to me personally those people have completely failed at playing this game.
The word "game" is something that is supposed to be fun and educational, sometimes just fun is enough, which is why I (much like Bill Hicks) feel a tinge of remorse for the future generation. Because where is the fun in making games into competitions where the idea is to get everything in the game as quickly as humanly possible so that you no longer have anything to look forward to?

 

Honestly, if you're softcapped in retail, I'd just stick with it and slowly work on pen'ing your gear. Most players on gamez burn out in about 2-3 months despite the "increases" available to them. There is a hard wall to progression here when it comes to accessories.

 

Was nice for awhile but I got burnt out too.

There's a whole sea area that's dying for content, and trading is still disabled.

 

Sea area doesn't need content when it's effectively the best money making method on retail bdo. It's there for you to get oodles of silver. But it's irrelevant here, since getting geared means you can make billions a day grinding in hysteria/aakman.

 

If you know what you are doing. And be efficient at it(granted some decent RNG too), you can hit Full boss PEN within 1 month. Acceessories will still make you wanna hurt someone IRL. But on here you only want to hurt them. Unlike Kill like with offi bdo

1 to 2 months here without paying or donating is like playing in retail for almost a year or more and of course not spending anything. Don't believe me? Try comparing, I guess you have a retail account so try to create a new character and play for a month, see how you progress there compared here. Been there, done that both NA and SEA retail.
Played retail NA, switched to gamezbd then went to SEA but went back to SEA after selling my accounts in retail lol.
There are pearl shop items that you really would need and is not purchasable using silvers (can't be put up in MP).
Yes it is a game but people tend to play on private servers certain reason and you did nail it.

Try playing again, less bully and you could easily get PEN gears now just buy in MP lol.
Trading lifeskill may be good in retail but there are different lifeskills that can make you tons of money aside from the usual horse breeding, selling to imperial

 

I'm still not soft capped. I'm enjoyed the game (42 days) as I did in retail (years). I stopped retail cause of the the freaking cash-grab and extremely poor pvp-class-decisions. The only thing that made me stopped playing here that often (maybe once in 2 or 3 days) is mostly the GEO-data and the lack of grind-spots after the new-formula implementation.

People shouldn't brag about "I have PEN in 3-4 weeks, you noob", but enjoy the game as it is. I always give new player the following advise: Enjoy the game! Dont rush it! Look around and discover things. The game is really big and complex.
I suppose people from now-days have this "look at me, I am very interesting, I'm very cool and I'm going to force-tell you how great I am and you are a nub". Not realizing that they don't matter at all. Ah well... (sigh)

 

I guess you never played when the bunch of bully guilds and players were here.
I don't see anyone bragging on this thread. It's all facts, old players like us are updating you guys that hey, you know what? "its possible to get boss pen gears in a month or so".
You can think of it like that, now that the player population seems to be decreasing but still new players from retail SEA/NA/EU etc are joining in; its best to give out advice for new gamers not just to enjoy the game but to also to be properly geared.
You can't win or survive in RBF if you are not geared enough not to mention even with full PEN Gears armor, weapon you would still die a lot.
PVP, PVE, life skill ranks, end game....
Those mindset nowadays such as "Look at me, I am very interesting. I'm the most powerful class/character here, I am part of the most active number 1 guild here has been around since the start of the 1st ever mmorpg out there way back years ago and you can't change that fact. Even on PUBG like games and MOBA it's always been like that and no one can change that.

Point here is, what we old players here are just stating the facts and good thing about this server. It may appear as bragging for you but not for some people. Cheers!

Bully never got to me, I never left towns. As for PEN's, already have them all, tet accessories. It was very fun at first but i'd like to see more things you can do with friends, and chill, have a good laugh. The sea part of the game (on retail) did that for me, as ap/dp aren't really needed. Just my thoughts

 

Still complaining about FML and Instinct.. jesus, dude. Get over it. They didn't BULLY anybody. They pk'd players for fun. Not their fault you didn't have any gear. They got bored of the lack of competition and all the crying about bullying, realized they had nothing to do with the gear they got, and quit for bless.

 

AFAIK, bless is dead basing on all game reviewers I've seen doing some reviews about it. That's good that their gone like I said. More newbies, more people, more fun.
I know the server is kinda low now not to mention I myself is not that active anymore but we get to enjoy the whole content of the game and not just the pvp content which is being abused by your friends.
BTW Instrict seems to be still active but are not hostile / afk killers / bully like FML.

SEA "was" fun until you realize the $ you need for the inventory slots, weight+, artisan memory, costumes etc (pearls = $)
Here? You can do more than that. The problem is this is a private server and most "pro" / competitive people like the retail version.

This server's population hasn't moved in months. In fact, I'd argue that more people have been quitting. BDO is nothing without pvp or lifeskills. Those are the main draws to the game.

Yeah, and Gamez was fun until the devs realize that if they keep the server easy, people will just get their gear and quit. They need the income flowing.
And no, you can't do more than you can on retail. Gamez is missing a ton of features. All forms of trading are disabled, sieges aren't activated, node wars are half-working. It's not even a matter of liking the retail version more or less. It's a more complete product. The competitive players all get their gear, realize they have nothing to do, and quit (like fml) or hit a hard roadblock, have trouble progressing beyond a certain point, and give up (like I did).

Funny thing you mention that. The only thing you're going to get as far as custom content or events is going to be a custom arena of sorts. You know, that pvp thing you hate and call bullying? Good luck with that.

 

Nah dude. that guild is dead. They cant afford to be hostile anymore because they dont have players All they do is losing wars and trashtalk the guilds they lose to behind closed curtains.

even with partial x10 and "higher rates" which in fact aren´t published - so we can´t really know which stuff is buffed or not - rng has still a big impact. If you´re unlucky on GamezBD its nearly like retai.

Gamez is nice, but could be better with little adjustments. Its true that we need working endgame (pvp).
