I am noticing that with summoned bosses, they will summon and aggro well before the summoning is complete, and once you regain control over your character, they seem to teleport all over the place and behave erratically. They are still killable... but the experience is very confusing.

Also, occasionally I will come across enemies that appear to be "in the ground."

It is true that finding ways to maximize the gaming experience as well as a quick and responsive gamplay can be one of the most difficult tasks a programmer can undertake, letting the game render the boss in full as well as not putting too much strain on the graphics, I guess it will affect the higher graphics-card-users as well. Maybe some tweak in the graphics options could improve the visuals without ruining too much of the gameplay?

Doing scrolls with my husband, we have found a couple of things that seem to help (though I can't confirm they work for others and do not work every time, but almost). When the boss is teleporting around, try to avoid it and avoid attacking until he stops this glitch. I find that chasing him around can sometimes make it worse. For those who appear "in the ground", try backing away a bit. Just like with the wild horses who clip into the ground, once you back away, they usually come back up. These are not guarenteed to work for everyone, but worked for us much of the time. On one more note (and I am not saying this is your issue), When I recently got my new computer within the past couple of weeks, I noticed this does not happen any more. That being said, my computer was rather old and had some worn out components that could not handle a game like bdo, which takes a lot of resources to run smoothly.

    Yeah, running an i7 4790k and a 1080ti... so I don't think it's performance related :)

From the neophyte level at which I understand how things work, the teleporting seems to be related to the "summoning without full summon animation" in that the boss somehow starts moving and acting before becoming "active" in the world... and the game doesn't how know to properly display it from a network-tick side of things... so it just renders to the player what information it sees... which looks weird.

It's not a "visuals" issue, I am running the game on max settings... it's a gameplay one... the boss is loading faster than it should and begins it's attack animations before the "summoning" cutscene completes.

The enemies stuck in the ground are literally on a lower z-axis... it's not as if they're "not visually rendering" they are physically in a different space.

Yeah I know, been like that for a while which is why I can only surmise that it is a very difficult task to run and maintain such a project as this, the changes to the basecode happen quite frequently, but with every tweak something usually unrelated affects the system and errors start poping up. I quit coding cause I was unable to quell my anger towards those computers for making things so much harder than they needed to be, then add another programmer's work to that mix, of course it makes things on this server difficult but the pay offs are well worth it if you can just bare with the small mistakes that happen once in a while, not all the mobs are affected by the way by the curse of the specter (walking through walls and ground) so while the quests are still completable I will continue to be happy about this project :)
