Hello everybody. First and foremost, as a former retail vet, it is a pleasure to be in a private server where time is valued and where I can actually kick back, enjoy the game a couple hours a day, and still make progress, all the while having time for other games/activities after I get back from work. As a new player, I gave it a 'trial period' of seven days by buying the premium, and my overall first experience left me very satisfied (I followed Black Spirit quests till Mediah, got to around lv 59, and got like 180m in savings, while boosting my energy and CP up, also managed to amass tons of pearls). Im currently on a hiatus of 10 days till the eleventh of march due to real life circumstances, but hope to delve back after that date!

Without getting into the whole 'nerfs' topic I have seen mentioned here and there, and understanding just recently several changes have been made such as horse training exp, and according to others SD/life skilling (won't get into details), I wanted to ask the more experienced players the average rates of several activities in the server in order to evaluate for myself before I make a bigger commitment with the server, seeing as if I do commit I want to contribute with constant premium membership. I also appreciate your help with answering my questions:

So here are my general observations and in some cases questions on the current state of the server:

    1. Fishing = Is it recommended? From what I have tested myself, fishing has retail rates but the imperial delivery npc usually has all the deliverables enabled since very few people fish. I think with a 192 inventory, master fishing, a Balenos +5 or above, we can look at 20-30m like on retail per afk session? I understand this is not the best afk activity at all.

    2. Trading/Processing/Cooking/Alchemy/Crafting Empire = Retail-like. I think this is fair, as it mainly serves as a supplement for crafting stuff you would use in other lifeskill, such as the merchant wagons, fishing gear etc. I don't mind being self sufficient, and due to the amount of players it is understandable that the server doesn't have as high an influx of materials in the Marketplace.

    3. Horse Training = On average, how long does it take you to train T6-T8 horses for imperial delivery, and with breeds and breed resets how much $ can you pull while AFK per day? Assuming a training cycle overnight, breeds and resets while you actively play, then sell the horses and rinse and repeat the next overnight afk session? I used to see videos where horses would get double the amount they are currently getting. How bad did this change impact the money making potential? On my testing I see you can get around 1.2m solo exp per hour per horse if individual training, need to test wagons still.

    4. Gathering = I also looked at a vet who posted a picture recently in this forum, and I tallied around a net 100m/hour from his session, but apparently he was using buffs (I assume kamasylvie and the VP loot scrolls). Un-buffed, how much money per hour can you expect to make gathering? I find this important as this is one of the activities where you can get sharps/hards, and which allow newbies to save money before real grinding.

    5. Active Grinding
    5. 1 Solo Grinding =
How much money per hour can you make with optimal setups if grinding solo? What are some good spots? Since I assume no SD, spots such as sausans, pirates or Gahaz with tons of trash loot work better than accessory heavy grinding spots?
5.2 SD Grinding = What are the rates for sub-optimal SD grinding spots for people with non-max gear, and what are the rates for the absolute best spots (Crescents, some Kama spots, etc)?

THANKS ALL IN ADVANCE, REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS AND HOPE WE CAN HAVE A GOOD DISCUSSION. LOOKING FORWARD TO JOINING THIS AWESOME SERVER FOR THE LONG RUN!!

Just going by comparing my levels and income from lifeskilling ... GameZ is way ahead of retail in terms of ease (played retail since NA release).

I've been playing both consistently but wish retail was more like an MMO and less like playing a cash gated roulette wheel at a casino. I think I'm going to ditch retail as the game mechanics enabled by GameZ have returned more of the MMO feel to BDO.

My observation is; if people want to play an MMO, play GameZBD. If it's feeding a gambling addiction, then play retail.

Lastly, if it's gear parity for end game PvP that individuals want, then play retail's battle royale thingy or a moba (not my thing).

Welcome to GameZ BDO (the MMO version :))

    Well it all depends ....
If you are pure Grinder/PvP player you will walue thinks diferently and do diferent activities
If you are lifeskiller or you do lifeskills on the side you will walue thinks diferently and do diferent activities

here on this server its usualy not about marketplace numbers, but about what YOU value as VALUABLE, if it makes any sense
mostly green stuff will not sell, many times blue stuff wont sell so its yelow or nothink

now if i have to answer your questions ...

    1) fishing, unless there is some event, in my opinion isnt realy good at all ... so only use it when you are SMH or need fishes for some cooking or somethink

    2) well here is the setchy think ... there are many ways to make good money on the side from workshops but the problem is that you need to do all the gathering/processing alone, cause most of the people realy dont do lifeskills and the people that do, will usualy have high buyout orders on basic thinks like logs ... so in many times, lifeskilling is more "on side" think OR "craft for yourself" like with ships or blue horse gear and stuff ... but because noone does lifeskiling, if you craf somethink, you can be sure that it will sell ... but in my opinion we need the global market to bring prices of crafted stuff alot higher to make it interestig for people to lifeskill and to make that hughe time sink worth it
so processing is good adition to gathering so you can process all the stuff you gathered overnight and get better money out of that ....

3,4) i know people that got full PEN gear just by gathering with loot scrolls, and i know people that got the same by doing horses ... so if you dont want to SD to make direct money, gather activly and do horses overnight
with horses its usualy leveling to 30 in wagon overnight and then just breed and repeat .... so if you are lucky and get T3-T4 from wild, with the first breed you can get T6-T7
im not sure about the money here but at T6 its like 40mil per horse ?? dont remember, im new to horses myself
with gathering you need to invest into KAMA, Hedgehog (higher T is better), that alone will net you 40-50 mil minimum (this number is calculated in my spreadsheet where i remove the cost of energy used os if you dont value your energy it will be around 5mil more), with loot scroll it increases rapidly, with gathering level it increases even more, higher T Hedgehog is also great boost, food for gather rate helps, lifeskill alchemy stone helps ....

5.1) its more about getting valuable items for yourself than getting money solo ... unless you are at high end spots and hoping for rare drops ... but even then ... if you want to make money (and not just materials) go to SD
for me i get extremly high values from grinding in Valencia (Ghaz, Bashims) cause they drop weapons that dont sell, but i can heat them for realy good (rare/expensive/time consuming) lifeskill materials...
another place that i value highly are manes/rogues, they drop again alot of stuff (including shutz belts) that i can heat into materials that i am using for crafting ...
as you can see, the money you get solo is in materials or extremly rare drops ...

5.2) the moneymakr for people that hate gathering, solo stuff or idk ...
in theory its the best way to get money if you know where ... you dont realy need high gear to make money this way so you can do SD in green +15 to DUO and still make 60+ mil /h
ofc if you are overgeared then you can just speedrun thru zones and make 150mil/h but at thta point i will call you cancer cause you are blocking whole parts of the map from people that are geared for those spots and want to do stuff here but some full pen jerks are just onehiting everyone .. .so much fun to be pleb at that moment

    6) thinks that you didnt mentioned .... Guild can be also big factor in money making ... you can do thinks that dont require you to do the above thinks and still get money ...
Sea Monster Hunting (SMH) can give you money
Node Wars (Node sniping) can give you money

    EDIT:
    Conclusin ...
    SOLO: Gathering
    GRUP: SD
    OVERNIGHT: Horses
    AFK: Processing

get CP and invest into gathering nodes so you can get workshops for side money (choose somethink simple)
if you want to do lifeskills or advanced workshops you will need to use your time to gather/process diferent thinks or/and "Grinding to heat stuff"

overall you can do whatever you want ... this game isnt race, but a marathon
    do what you like
dont do thinks just because "you must"

Agree completely with the opinion you've shared, there is definitely no doubt the QoL and faster rates of this server are a godsend compared to the crapfest Vanilla has become. Also agree on the endgame, and as a fellow alt-oholic, what I enjoy the most is the gearing progress and not being endgame gear per se.

Thank you for the detailed response Shadow, from all you have explained, I have a very good understanding of where the server stands right now and more or less what are the progression rates the devs are shooting for. If I may ask one last question, regarding 3/4), you mention investing into KAMA for gathering. Are these Kamasylvia nodes, or just the Kama buff from pearl shop. Sorry for the newb question.

Really appreciate all the insight you've provided.

I ment Kama buff ... Also one aditional think is that processing isnt realy changed at all , so its prety long to proces all the materials (that you get at increased rates from nodes and gathering).... Cant wait for manos stuff
