What's the difference between Shield Defense and Block.
Also Magic Resist vs Magic Defense.

Not sure about shield defense and block but I think theyre the same stat.

Magic resist = increases your chances to fully resist a skill by completely negating the damage or be unaffected by any magical altered states. Countered by magical accuracy.
Magic defense = reduces magic damage received by the player. Countered by magic attack.

Shield Defense - Ability to reduce physical damage received while wielding a shield. (So advantage is having a shield lols)
Block - Affects the character's ability to decrease physical damage from attacks, and requires a shield to be equipped. (old time block)

No dif lol.

They put 2 similar manastone with different value, but show the same thing just to confuse the players. hahaha

 

Both useless anyways. All defensive stats are not as op as they were back in 5.3. Even if you only had 200 more block over your enemy's accuracy, you would still be able to block most of, if not all, of the attacks. They changed everything to having a base factor of 6k, so you can only have either 6k or 12k or 18k block. Anything in between are rounded down so theyre wasted stats.

Imo, the best support build currently is to stack as much healing boost as possible and retune to get hp and healing boost as priority stats and defensive stats like evasion and block come in second.

Read my reply above. Obviously its not the only way to play support. I, myself, dont play one but i do enough research on my own to figure out the best build for my wife. Mix and match and see what works best for you.

No wonder why block manastone gives +94 while shield def add +86 only. There must be something fooling around here .

 

Shield Defense +86 is BLOCK. It's just a name mistake NCSoft did.
They should just put block +94 as best manastone stat for block.
Manastone: Block +94
Manastone: Shield Defense +86
The Engraved name is correct.

Physical/Magical Defense reduces the amount-dmg of physical/magical attacks. Countered by Phys/Mag ATTACK manstones and buffs which increase your dmg in any sort of way.
Magic Resist is useful to resist all kind of magical attacks (from mages, all roots, stuns, magical aether's hold made by sins/sorc/ranger-trap, sleeps, fear and check yourself the rest of altered states). Countered by Magical Accuracy.
Block is the most effective way to reduce physical dmg skills but is countered by Accuracy. Take in consideration: a block user as cleric, chanter, templar, gladiator doesn't have the same amount of accuracy of any physical class. This means on a basic stat Accuracy is more than Block, so for a physical class who needs to counter another class full block, it's not necessary to socket full accuracy but the right amount not to block (you can put attack/crit in the rest of the slots).
