Solved Game crash and stuck at update

Ok, this is a weird problem ive encountered. So, I start my day as usual opening the game launcher, login, click start, play. But this time the game gives me a "New patch Available. Click OK to logout and start update task" after clicking ok it logs me out so I relog back in and the update bar below says 100%, naturally I click start, but this time suddenly the "Can't find game files in specified directory. Please set valid game path in settings window." pops up, I click OK and find my game path AGAIN. The update bar instantly jumps to 100% and I click Start, BUT NO "Can't find game files in specified directory." POPS UP AGAIN, so I choose the file location again. I am stuck in this endless loop, and if I try to close the launcher it will not close a "Warning Can't close while updating application!" pops up.... the only way to close the launcher is through task manager.


I have deleted the launcher and downloaded a new one and let it patch again, problem persists. Please help.

 

Your patch probably has some issue with permissions to write in your game directory.
Let's try the following:
• Open GamezBD folder settings and check it's permissions, if the box "read only" is marked, uncheck it;
• Verify your Antivirus, Windows Defender and Firewall for exceptions:
* Add GamezBD folder (both from your game path and Documents) as exception. If it doesn't work, try disable it.

 

Now I got a crash Error Code: 0E02 00000005
I was just playing this game fine for almost a month, idk what happened...


EDIT: Okay yes it was indeed the antivirus. Apparently after almost a month of playing, it suddenly decided to act up and block the game... problem solved.
