I agree this is the best anime ever.

Its such a heartwarming, loving story, so awesome and lovable and all the characters are amazingly done.

I just finished it last night, but I have to say the last 4 hours of it are sadder than just about any other televised content I've ever watched in my life. I don't hesitate to say that I teared up SEVERAL times watching this anime, and those last 4 hours took a bit more than tears from me. Its really, really, really sad, but at the same time if you watch it I can guarantee you won't be disappointed with your time put into it.

Also I'd like to counter-recommend using AnimeFushigi instead, its my personal favorite

have you watched the wire, lost, or breaking bad? Because I want to know if it could be considered more powerful than those shows, which for some reason I HIGHLY doubt -.-

I havent watched Breaking bad, and yes I consider it more powerful than those shows. That might be partially due to the fact that I get a lot more attached to well-made anime characters than most TV show characters, but honestly Clannad is really sad and at the same time makes you extremely happy, its all around a very amazing show.

I also like Anime characters more. Some actors are just horrible at representing their character, but they can basically do anything with an Anime character.

thats why I chose award winning shows with extremely high calibre acting. In my mind, those become more realistic, especially in the flesh and bone, than anime characters. thats just me though

For fun, if you got nothing to do, and it was made for entertainment and you do not have to watch it if you don't want too.

I'm just trying to find a new show to watch after Lost finished. I personally don't think I like it, but I am trying to understand it as best as I can before I put time into something like it. And if you could use RL shows as comparison, it'd be nice since I don't watch anime. To me, it sounds like a soap opera.

Well it's personally your choice if you want to watch it or not, but I like it, it has a nice story and it's sad, not the typical drama.
