Profession quest that advances to Expert

So basically all profession level get stuck at 449 and we need to do a quest to make something. A greater output of a staff/armor/weapon/etc. It's no easy task, gathering those mats takes ~2-3hours. Is there anyway to improve chances of getting a greater output?

 

Mastery quests will be implemented in 2.0


I guess that you'll have to keep trying untill you get a greater output =/
