How to fix the Aion(1024) error

I found this out after nothing else worked and did a re-install/repair.

If your 2.0 gamez Aion client gets this error, it's because you're still using the items.pak for 1.9 found here on the forums.

To fix it, you'll need to replace it with the retail one. Here's the download link for the retail items.pak - http://www.mediafire.com/?fll8h7ra9jvxg1f

Now, place it in your Gamez directory. (I keep Gamez to it's own folder apart from the retail version for these kinds of situations)

C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\GamezAion\Data\items

It should work just fine after that, minus the fact you won't have free-fly or be able to trade untradeable items and all that. Hope this helps.

OPTION 2: If the above doesn't work, try this:
1) Re-install the game.
2) Run NCSoft launcher as an admin and update it to 2.0.0.4
3) After it's fully updated, copy your Aion folder and paste it in the same directory (see above), then rename it to GamezAion
4) Run the Gamez Launcher and make sure you install it to the GamezAion folder, not the Aion (retail) folder - http://gamezaion.com/index.php?page=download
5) DO NOT download the 1.9 items.pak from the forums
6) Try running GamezAion now, it should load just fine.

I've tried it several times as an admin, didn't work. This is just an alternate method.

nice! unfortunately for me too late....I got frustrated and just downloaded the gamez launcher to my retail folder so i could play on my gaming rig. I guess no more retail for me lol.

 

This is what we all do.

The Aion client runs off the retail client just with a different launcher.

 

oh...well i actually started playing on gamez last weekend with some retail friends and used my laptop so i could test out stigmas before I bought them with my AP. But my laptop isnt a gaming rig like my desktop is. WAY too much issues with graphics and choppiness. When I try to play my paid account it tells me I have a bin32 error so I'm guessing that's the gamez aion not wanting to cooperate...but thats okay...I like this server way better than the retail. PvP is actually fun here!

 

it is due to the item.pak. and system.ovc or w/e file, u must repatch 2.0.0.4 with full administrator, not repair.

 

Yes this is it, Update as Admin, do NOT use the Item.pak file.

It should work.
