    quite. say for example you have 32 bits for a number, in those 32 bits 1 is for the sign of the number, 8 are for the exponential values and 23 are for the 'numerical' values.

    Now, let's say that you've exceeded in bits, and you go past 8 bits for the exponent. What happens is the sign will become negative once the exponent overflows onto the sign bit
