Item Pack part of Installer?

was just wondering why not make the item pack part of the gamez aion installer. would save tons of "idk how to install this" "wheres the new item pack" threads everybody gets it at some point so why not give it at the beginning? XD

 

Because some item.paks dont work for different Operating Systems.

If we used a item.pak that didnt work for XP users in the Gamez Launcher then it would cause more issues.

 

um...how bout adding 2 installers on the website based on operating system or might as well just put the 2 item pack downloads to the same place where the launcher is on the website. that way people can get it all at once ^^ they would also get the 1 that works for them if u say which OS its for

 

I have multiple links in my guide (same place) which will allow you to download the different item.paks.

The link is in my sig.

Also, it would be a good idea but some players may not want the item.pak and also there may be conflicting issues when a player 'Repairs' their client because the original item.pak will be placed into the directory.

If the item.pak wasnt present on the forums to download then players who repair will be stuck with the retail item.pak.

 

true but posting a link to the item pack on the main site under the launcher would save the trouble of searching the forums how would they know u have links in ur sig without actually seeing u post (or reading ur sig)? xD and yeah just saves time and confusion

id say add the link to the main website under the launcher and let them choose if they want it or not

ur choice i know i just repaired to 2.0.0.5 and had to look for them xD still think its easier going to a place where u know ull find it and its clearly said what version its for but yeah i guess xD

 

Tbh its not a bad idea.

I back your suggestion, i have been there myself with trying to find the files etc.

 

also about ur USA vs EU folders...wouldnt pasting this in the Data/Items and Data/Npcs folders work for everyone? its how we did it in 1.9 and it worked fine

 

Thats what i do in my guide ^^

Notice the only difference between EU and US is the file directories.

But some people prefer to follow guides rather than do it themselves.
