    Greetings folks, as some of you are no doubt aware and as Edixoid spilled the beans rather early on the subject insignias (<a href="http://aion.yg.com/item/insignia-of-light-protection?id=164000101">Elyos</a>/<a href="http://aion.yg.com/item/insignia-of-darkness-protection?id=164000102">Asmo</a>) are currently working for regular players.

    What this means is that if players pay a visit to the legion store they can for a fairly cheap cost get an Insignia item to reduce their incoming damage by 50%

    Now we have disabled these countless times in the past however Carl and I were discussing it the other day when we unintentionally brought it back in and have given serious consideration to actually leaving them in.

    As it stands Aion PvP will always be unbalanced, NCSoft never were particularly good at balancing =/, however on Gamez in particular the damage output of characters is much higher than it should be. Due to the ready availability of high-tier gear, all stigma skills being active and now armsfusion damage has gotten a tad out of hand.

    We tested and confirmed for example that a gladiator in ABG with an armfused spear can actually two-shot a Sorceror in gear of equal quality. With crits this can even be done using the cleave ranged chain.

    While Aion is all about group PvP it kinda defies the point when most classes can be sniped by melee, let alone invisible ranged players. This is clearly reflected in our population statistics that have Gladiator/Ranger being by far the most populated - the powerhouse melee and ranged class that can hide from the aforementioned glad ;p

    Due to this Insignias actually provide a convenient balancing mechanic to the absurd damage levels people are displaying making PvP a bit more strategy based and a little less "Slam your face into the keyboard to hit three buttons and kill the enemy"

    Therefore we are officially permitting the use of insignias, it will not be considered bug abuse although you're welcome to laugh at your peers who chose to use them in duels. That's a little weird imho ;)

    Now we do understand people have conflicting views on this subject, some even say it would make glads more "imba" although the way I see it this is both a nerf and boost to all classes.

    Because of these conflicting opinions however we are supporting discussion and public opinion on the matter. We're open to your ideas guys, whether you support or condemn insignias we're happy to hear what you all think! Please keep discussion civil, suggestions made while you're foaming at the mouth will be disregarded no matter what merit they may or may not hold.

    In retail, there's a PvP reduction that we don't have here. The insignias kind of make up for that. On the OTHER hand, it makes glads and temps extremely OP. Idunno, you vote :smile:

    See now that I actually disagree with, insignias stop glads two-three shotting other classes.

    I can see them being rather annoyed at that ;p

    Theyre readily available and inexpensive to players on both sides to get, and they help to balance things out so the winners of fights aren't always, who has the biggest zerg.

    They're the cheapest consumable and prevent single burst(two-three) skill deaths, leave them ;P
