Hey I got a question for those out there that know about computer hardware. I am taking out my current processor/motherboard and putting in a intel i5-750 quad core. This is because I want to play black-ops and Aion without having any problems. I cant even go into fortress seiges when there are 20-50 people in there cause of the lag, its rediculous.

My question, what type of motherboard should I buy that is around $200 that will be the best for my i5-750. Im pretty sure it has to have the x58 chipset, but please correct me if im wrong. All of this is new to me.

I've been looking at these motherboards, any of these recommended?

    Asus P7P55D Pro

    Asus P7P55D-E Pro

    Asus P7P55D LE

    EVGA P55 SLI

    Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3L

    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P

Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it.

Try looking at the EVGA p55 FTW, not the best but it should run very well and for a low price as well.

if i had that i5 i would prolly spend a little bit more on the mobo and go for the

"Asus Maximus III Formula iP55, SATA2 RAID, GLAN"

but if u wanna keep the budget on exactly $200 then i gues this is a good one aswell:

    "Asus P7P55D-E Evo iP55, SATA2 RAID, USB3.0"

But remember. This board and mainly all i5 mainboards require DDR3 Memory. so take note of that if u dont have DD3 already.

and truly. if ur gonna upgrade your PC just for gaming. Go AMD.
Cheaper aswell then this sick priced Intel

    Thank you for your suggestions.

I havent boughten the processor or the motherboard yet, i'm discovering what i want to buy and then im going to call my tech and have him help me install all of it. Im thinking ill need to upgrade my memory as well. I have a 2004 alienware. The only thing good about it is my video card. I use the BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC MAXCORE 55 videocard, and my processor is single core at 3.0 ghz, so basically i have a bottle neck. Plus lately my power supply has been making this really loud high pitch ringing noise, its a 650 watt used power supply, so i have to get another power supply as well.

well its your own choice, but i would go for AMD if your a game fanatic and its cheaper aswell.

    But also.
If your gonna get new memory, try to get memory with a as low as possible latency.(wich is faster)
try looking at the possibility of getting a SSD drive as your main Windows drive and main game drive.
My overall speed of PC drasticly increased with a SSD as main drive
