They sure do over rate power supplies :D. Actually video card wise you need to look at the amprage not the wattage, i feel confident that the PSU you listed will suit you fine running 1 or 2 gtx470s.

Output+3.3V@30A, +5V@28A, +12V@60A, [email protected], [email protected] output +12@60A is way more then enough to run 2 gtx470s + your CPU :).

On the RAM issue. AMD Phenom II x4 is a Dual Memory Channelled CPU. So I would probably go for 8G of DDR2 RAMs instead of DDR3. (DDR3 is Tri-Channeled so your CPU won't make full use of it) As long as you're running 1 game client at a time, you should have no problems with any games that comes up within the next 2 years.

8gigs is a bit overkill as well unless you plan on doing massive video editing.

3-4 gigs is just fine for every day use and extreme gaming. Not sure why people think they need mass amounts of RAM for gaming :/.

Also so true, id recommend using dual sticks of DDR2 2gig.

Compared to everything else, RAM is cheap so IMO you should get plenty of it. When I build my comp, Im goin with 8 gigs

Exactly. But Memory is dirt cheap these days so just get 8Gs and u can leave more background programs to run while playing game at the same time.

But DDR3 is definitely an over kill. Phenom is clocked at DDR2 1066 MHertz so you RAM's clock speed should be DDR2 <1066 MHertz.

P.S. For your software to support any thing >4G. You need a 64-bit OS.

    Edit:

Radeon HD 6850 GPU paired with AMD Athlon II (Dual Core, not even a Quad Core like Phenom as Alente listed) Watch in HD and watch out for the rendering, lighting and ESP shadows while he land. (All of that was run at 8X AA and 1440x900 resolution.)

Goes to show that you don't need a good CPU. i-7 is complete waste of money for those who suggested.

Well I think would be better to buy a proper Server Machine.

    This isn't a host machine ;p
